Chapter Nine: Fear for the Future
I didn’t say goodbye to Bardock, I left while he still slept in bed. Last night had been wonderful and I wondered if I had interfered with this world. I carried Prince Vegeta with me to the King’s ship and waited for the rest of the party to arrive. The King entered and I bowed as he passed and followed behind him with the young Prince. I followed the King to the flight deck and stood next to him during take off. Bardock, I’ll miss you. I whispered to him as he woke up and I could tell he was smiling as he got out of bed.
“My King, may I ask how long we are going to be with Lord Freeza?” I asked as I decided I would try and teach Chibi Vegeta how to walk one I was allowed to leave the flight deck.
“We will be with Lord Freeza for twenty months,” he sighed as he growled. “I don’t know if I can stand to be with that monster for TWENTY months, but he demands my presence.” I nodded, saddened by the news I wouldn’t see my mate for that long, but I wouldn’t be alone, I had Chibi Vegeta.
“May I be excused, I wish to begin to teach Prince Vegeta to walk,” I asked as I bowed to the King.
“Fine, just keep that brat quiet and I won’t care what you do,” King Vegeta sighed as he waved me away and I headed to my chamber, sighing as I looked at the infant in my arms.
“Well, Chibi Vegeta, I’m going to teach you to walk and talk,” I said as I entered the HUGE room that was dedicated to me and the new heir of the Saiyan throne.
When we met with Lord Freeza’s ship, only five Saiyans stayed with Freeza: King Vegeta, Turles, Capitz, Prince Vegeta, and me. I was shocked when I saw Freeza the first time; it was so strange to see such a small, girly looking creature and KNOW that it was going to kill all but six of the Saiyan race (I was counting my unborn child and myself because I didn’t plan on being around when Freeza decided to kill us). Didoria was almost comical with his weight, I knew he could kill me in a matter of seconds, but he looked so fat and out of shape that I couldn’t hide the smirk on my lips when I bowed to the Freeza. Finally I noticed Zarbon, he was gorgeous and his body was very attractive, but I knew I could never cheat on Bardock. I stood in attention at King Vegeta’s side when he introduced us to Lord Freeza.
“This is my son, Prince Vegeta, he is only a week old, but I wanted him to become accustomed with you, since he will be traveling with you when he is older,” the King said as I held the child up to Freeza.
“He is strong, even for an infant,” Freeza said as he looked at the little Prince in a way I didn’t like.
“This is his bodyguard, Kayisha, she will be restricted to watching him as her only duty on board,” the King said and I nodded to Freeza.
“It is an honor to meet you, Lord Freeza, I never thought I would ever be able to encounter you this close,” I bowed and tried not to stare at him.
“You speak well for an nursemaid,” Freeza laughed and I growled at the insult.
“I was the Queen’s bodyguard and will serve the same position for her son for the first years of his life. I find that being a ‘nursemaid’ is far more enjoyable, I travel with the King and am able to meet great warriors I would never meet if I were a simple soldier,” I said as I stood tall and locked eyes with Freeza. He chuckled as he nodded to me.
“You are wise with your words, I wouldn’t have expected that from a Saiyan,” Freeza chuckled as the King introduced the other two warriors. I bit my lip to keep from growling at Freeza’s backhanded compliment. I sighed after he turned to lead us to our rooms. The King stood behind Freeza and Didoria at his left, I was behind the King wish Zarbon at my left. The other two warriors were behind us and I looked at Chibi Vegeta and sighed, this was going to be a long trip.
“You have a scar on your neck, I heard that had something to do with the Saiyan mating ritual. Maybe one day you could give me a private lesson on that,” Zarbon said as he looked me up and down and I had to fight the urge to growl at him. I was Bardock’s mate alone, but I had to be calm because I was with the King.
“Besides the fact my mate wouldn’t like that, I don’t think you could take THAT lesson, it takes a real man,” I said as I smirked as I continued behind the King. The warriors behind us chuckled and Zarbon blushed in anger and I turned my head to look at the ship’s interior, closing discussion.
I smiled as Chibi Vegeta crawled to me on his hands and knees and I laughed as he made it all the way without falling.
“YEAH VEGETA! You learned how to crawl in only three weeks!” I cried as I jumped up with Chibi Vegeta in my arms, his bushy obsidian hair waving as I spun around in circles and I began to toss him into the air as he began to giggle.
“And I thought females were gentle with infants,” someone chuckled and I caught Chibi Vegeta and turned to face this uninvited visitor. It was Zarbon; he had been harassing me since I arrived on the ship. For some reason he didn’t get the hint that I was happily bonded and NOT interested.
“If you’re too gentle the child will be too sensitive to pain, but if you’re too rough the child will be hurt. I choose to take the median,” I said as I rested Chibi Vegeta on my hip holding him with one arm as I would a one year old (I had realized that Saiyan babies grow to large sizes in the womb and therefore are ready to start crawling and walking a few weeks after birth). “If you don’t have anything important to tell me, then I’m going to go to my chamber and put Prince Vegeta down for his nap.”
“Well, if the brat is going to sleep then you’ll be free to meet me for lunch,” Zarbon said as he walked over to me and started to brush the hair out of my face, but I caught his wrist in my hand.
“I still have to guard the Prince, that means I stay by him 24 hours a day,” I said as I brought his hand away from my face and released it. “I’ll be leaving if you don’t mind.”
“Maybe some other time,” Zarbon chuckled as he slapped my butt and I ducked down and knocked his legs out from under him. Once he hit the floor I put my foot on his throat and growled.
“No,” I hissed and exited quickly with Chibi Vegeta giggling happily on my hip. “Did you like Kayisha knocking that arrogant bakayaro down on his ass?” I baby talked to the little Prince.
“I’d watch out with that talk, Kayisha, you could get in trouble with it,” Turles laughed as stepped away from the wall.
“Why, Zarbon knows I don’t want anything to do with him, I’ll bad mouth him if I want to. And the young Prince is the only one who listens to my complaints anyway,” I sighed as I reached my room. “Is there anything I should know, Turles?” He shook his head as he looked around the hall.
“Not really, just watch your back, there are too many survivors of Saiyan raids on this ship, all of them would like to take it out on us. You especially, most of the ship knows you’re with child and the easiest kill is an unborn Saiyan child. Watch out, they wouldn’t dare hurt the Prince, but a third-class warrior’s infant is better,” he walked away and I growled. NO ONE would ever touch my child! It was going to be a strong warrior and I was going to keep it safe from any alien. My ki aura surrounded me in a blue glow and I glared at the wall as I screamed in anger at the thought of someone hurting my child.
Hi again! I’m out in the middle of space, the only female on a ship filled with males and I’m pregnant with a kid that most of the aliens on board hate. Well, things can only go up, like what happens next time. I form a bond with Chibi Vegeta and I begin training as I plan to get back home without the view screen. This is what you have to look forward to next time on Dragon Ball YWBT.
