Dogue De Bordeaux's are one of my favorite breeds of dogs. They may look fearsome, but
they are even-keeled and sweet with their family. They love ample amounts of attention
and affection. The Dogue loves to curl up and be scratched and cuddled. But be sure to
make room—you don’t want the heavy-duty Dogue to park itself on your lap, lol. They are
gentle giants but can be very protective when needed.
My Dogue's are true to breed. They are loving, playful and great with children. My Dogue's
are AKC registered and when I have pups available they will be AKC registered as well.

Like people, dogs are what they eat. I feed a high end dog food like blue buffalo to my Dogue's. I recommend feeding your puppy a dog food that is made up of all human grade ingredients. I believe that feeding your dog a better dog food will give him a better quality of life.
Do not let your dog get fat. Fat dogs have health problems. Feed a good healthy diet. Carrying too much weight at a young age also add's stress on soft puppy bones and this DOES have an effect on skeletal development.
DO NOT over exercise this breed, especially as a puppy. No jogging until after the dog is 12 months old and no very long walks.
Dogue's are prone to bloat....a twisting of the stomach that can lead to death. Although experts are not sure as to the exact causes, it is believed that excessive exercise and excitement after eating and drinking can cause bloat. Bloat is commonly traced to dogs gulping air that gets caught in the stomach. To prevent this, avoid feeding your Dogues immediately before or after exercise. Another recommendation is to elevate their food and water dishes so they are not eating off of the ground.
Dogue's can overheat very easily so make sure they have plenty of water and are not left outside in the sun. My Bordeauxs absolutely LOVE to swim so this is one simple way to keep them cooler in the hotter months when they are playing outside.
