The Leafs Must Really Suck...

On Monday night the Leafs took on the Islanders of New York...and lost 4-3 in overtime....again. This is the 7th time this season that the leafs have lost in OT. Now the kicker in this game is that they had 61 shots on Dwayne Roloson, the Islanders new favourite teamate. Yes thats right, Rolly Poly Olie made 58 saves between the pipes. 58. In one game. Clearly the Leafs can manage to get the puck in the oppositions end, and throw it towards the net, but apparently they are all Swedish and no Finish. Goals came from Kessel, Hagman and Primeau. For the Isles it was Tambellini, Moulson, Bergenheim and the OT winner from Bailey. (Ya, we don't know who any of them are either). The Leafs will be looking to turn their luck around Wednesday against Tampa Bay, while the Islanders take on Philly that same evening. We wish the bost of them the best of luck, especially the Leafs, who will clearly need it.

Kipper Doesn't Love Canada...

The Olympics are fast approaching and excitingly enough they are being held in the Great White North. This upcoming Olympics will be a showcase of some of the best hockey that we have seen in quite some time. It also is a perfect opportunity for Canada to bring home Gold in front of a rowdy (and probably intoxicated) home crowd. This always brings up the question of who exactly will be playing for our Canadian team, and most notably, who will be the starting goaltender. Mikka Kiprusoff would be an obvious choice to some people, but there is also some stiff competition from Roberto Luongo. Recently Kipper was chatting with some news journalists and he has stated that if he doesn't receive the starting position he will not play. Now Kipper, are you kidding me? I would kill for the opportunity to warm the bench for some of the best players in the world, but apparently he just doesn't love Canada enough to go through that. Tough life.
