Spiritual Music

Music is the most basic element of communication between the composer, performer and the listener.

Beginning with the foundation, or building blocks of spiritual music, we first look to melody. Melody is usually what we remember, and a lot of cultures share the concept of melody as a musical line. A definition of melody is that it is a coherent succession of single pitches. Pitch refers to the highness or lowness of a tone, and the distance between two different pitches is an interval. We hear words in a sentence as an entire thought, and we also perceive pitches in relation to their intervals.
