What does a Mystery
Shopper Do?
Mystery shopping is a form
of marketing research for businesses. You,
the mystery shopper, pose as a normal customer who goes to local retail store,
cinema, restaurant, grocery store, gas station or just about any retail
establishment to gather useful information about the business and report the
results to a marketing company later. The information you collect is usually
the performance of employee(s), the quality of service such as taste of food,
drinks, or the opinions of some films. After you finish the mystery shop, you
need to file a report or a questionnaire according to the marketing or mystery
shopping company's guidelines. Marketing companies use those reports to analyze
the performance of the business, give suggestions to employers on what to do to
improve their businesses and cater to their customers.

and did not graduate college to work retail!!! I was only interested in mystery
shopping to supplement my current income without jeopardizing my current job,
i.e. a moonlighting of sorts on my own terms.
The emails I did get for mystery shopping were usually for the entire
state of
Alright, How much is this going to cost???
