Gothic Style Then!
Gothic style then had a sophisticated sheek look. Lace trim and jewlery were used to enhance the look of the women. The cloth used was a thick rich material and black, green, blue, and dark red were popular colors. The sleeves of the dresses were packed with shoulder pads and fluffy material.(see #1 and 2 on "thanks") |

Gothic Style Now!
As you can see, the dresses worn by women in this time had many layers were obviously hard to breath in. The fillet was a ribbon used to hold the headpiece in position and even used as an ornament. The coif was a cap used to cover the back, sides, and top of a man or woman's head. The chemise is basically a dress worn under the outer dress, but is known as an undergarment. Even though hidden under the many layers the women of this time were still naturally beautiful.(see #1 on "thanks") |
