* Traditional view of male - female relations (i.e. men as 'head of the
house', women as secondary to the man)
* Anger as an expression of many different emotions i.e. frustration,
disappointment, sadness
* manipulation - often using fear, intimidation, and humiliation to control
especially with sex
* physical or verbal violence towards partner
* Denial - rationalizing why he hit her, etc.

* Dating Violence is emotional, physical
and/or sexual abuse from someone who one is going out with.
* Extreme jealousy and possessiveness are the usual forms of emotional
abuse.
* Women are the overwhelming victims of relationship violence.
* Relationship violence incorporates the following coping mechanisms
of dependency, blaming, isolation, anger, manipulation, and denial.
