Hello my name is Briana Kiyomi Carrera and I am a sophomore at James Madison University. I am a member of the JMU softball team . I was born and raised in my hometown of San Diego, California. The sun is always shinning and the weather is never as cold as it is here in Virginia. You are probably wondering why I am attending a school that is across the country. Well the answer to that question would be that I received an athletic scholarship to be here. It was a great honor and opportunity to be here. Well my family comes next because my family is the most important thing to me. I have two younger brothers who are 13 and 11 and I have a younger sister who is a year younger than me. She is a freshman who attends San Diego State University. Of course there is my parents whom brought me into this world. My father's name is Fernando and my mother's name is Sharon. One unique thing about me would be that I am half Mexican and half Japanese .  Some of my friends call me Mexinese.

I have two best friends who I known forever. They both grew up with me back home. We are all the same age and go to different schools. Vanessa received a softball scholarship to Oregon State University and Veronica also received one to St. Marys in North Dakota, but now she attends a school back home . I love these girls with all my heart. I recently met my best friend here at JMU. She is also a member of the JMU softball team, her name is Kelly Ann. I don't know what I would do with out her. Over all I love my friends, family, and school. I am a gregarious person who loves to be around people.
