Hook Worms
Hook Worms are parasites 1/4 to 1/2 of an inch long. They latch onto the small intestine and suck the blood. The source of Hook Worms are their eggs passed in the feces of a contaminated animal. You can tell if your dog has Hook Worm if it has anemia, bloody diarrhea, and weight loss. The only cure is medication given from the veterinarian.
