Canine Hepatitis

Canine Hepatitis

Canine Hepatitis is a lethal viral disease that affects your dog's liver, kidney and blood vessels. It can spread through an affected dog's urine, feces, or saliva.
It is a very quick disease that you might not even notice your dog has until he/she dies, but that is mostly for puppies. For dogs, about nine out of ten of them only show symptoms a short while before they die.
The symptoms could be any one of these: depression, loss of appetite, high fever, bloody diarrhea, or vomiting.  Additional signs are Jaundice and sensitivity to light.
Your dog can die within twenty-four hours of catching this disease. But if your dog is still living in twenty-four to forty-eight hours, he/she has a good chance of surviving.
Though, never fear! You can give your dog Serum-Gamma-Globulin, which contains anti-bodies to fight off Canine Hepatitis. It will prevent your dog from ever getting this disease.
