Oh, that we could turn back the hands of time And live as in by-gone days, When men and nations looked to Thee, Lord, And on bened knee gave Thee praise; When the rulers of nations stood firm for the right And the plea for liberty and justice was heard.

By Divine deree repeal the mandate That prevents prayer in schools being said. Give power to the voices of the loyal and true And rule that Holy Scriptures can be read.

Lord, hold back the tide of vice and crime That engulfs our sinful world today, And send a Holy Ghost revival, in Jesus' name We pray.

Forgive us of all our sinful ways And our trusting in the wisdom of man, May we look to Thee, Lord, to heal our nation's woes And trust You to cleanse and save us, Amen.

hold your head to your right and you can see the L makes the two eyes and part of the nose. The I is at the end of the nose and the A makes the lips. The R makes up the chin and neck.

“What Greater Calamity Can Fall Upon A Nation Than The Loss Of Worship.”

PARABLE OF THE DEAD CHURCH

A person once called a pastor to say he wanted to join the church. But he went on to explain that he didn’t want to worship every week, study the Bible, visit the sick, witness to nonChistians, or serve as a leader or teacher.

The pastor commended him for his desire to join, but told him the church he sought was located in another section of town. The man took the directions and hung up.

When he arrived at the church, the man cam face to face with the logical result of his own apathetic attitude. There stood an abandoned church building, boarded up and ready for demolition.

Whom do men say that I am?

Mark 8:27-31

• 27]And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of Caesarea Philippi: and by the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, Whom do men say that I am?
• 28]And they answered, John the Baptist: but some say, Elias; and others, One of the prophets.
• 29]And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answereth and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ.
• 30]And he charged them that they should tell no man of him.
• 31]And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, after three days rise again.

Notes:

Jesus asked a question that can still be asked today “ Whom do men say that I am?”. Jesus asked this about men that thought they knew God but didn’t have a personal relationship with him. His disciples answered him:

• 1]John the Baptist = Luke 1:13-17 John came “in the spirit and power of Elias” . Mark 9:11-13 Jesus told his disciples, knowing that John was born to be the for runner to the Messiah in the spirit of Elias or Elijah, “That Elias is indeed come”.
• 2]Elias = Jewish tradition is to sent a cup of wine for Elijah (Elias) at the Passover for when he comes to prepare the way for the Messiah or Christ. In Mark 9:11 the disciples asked Jesus “Why say the scribes that Elias must first come?”.
• 3]One of the prophets = The Muslims even today think Jesus was just a prophet. The Mormons also talk like they think Jesus was just a prophet. Many people today take the attitude that Jesus is less that what he is, God who wrapped himself in the flesh to redeem us from our sins.

Jesus asked another question to the ones that had a closer walk with him “But whom say ye that I am?”. Peter answered him “ Thou art the Christ”. When you have a close relationship with Jesus ,you know him to be more than just a preach of righteousness, Noah did that. He is more that someone who raised the die, Elijah and Elisha did that. Jesus is the Christ our redeemer and nobody but Jesus can do that.

John 4:6-14

• 6]Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.
• 7]There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.
• 8](For his disciples, were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)
• 9]Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.
• 10]Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
• 11]The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
• 12]Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
• 13]Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
• 14]But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Notes:

The people of Samaria had some what of a joint history with the people from Jerusalem. When the tribes of Israel divided in to two kingdoms, ten tribes under Jeroboam and two tribes under Solomon’s son Rehoboam, Samaria was the capital of the kingdom of Israel under Jeroboam. Jerusalem was the capital of the kingdom of Judah under Solomon’s son Rehoboam. Many things took place in Jewish history from Jeroboam and Rehoboam’s time up until the time Jesus was talking to the woman at the well, but she still identified Jacob as her father also. She only know Jesus was a Jew. She didn’t know the fullness of what was and what he could do in her life.

John 4:25-26

• 25]The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.
• 26]Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

Notes:

Jesus let her know that he was the Christ, that living water, the redeemer of the world. She went away from that well that day with a better understanding of who Jesus is and told everyone she could to come and know him for yourself.

John 4:39-42

• 39]And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.
• 40]So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days.
• 41]And many more believed because of his own word;
• 42]And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

  

  If God said it, it shall be done

  Jeremiah 23: 3-8

  3] And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.

  4] And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the LORD.

  5] Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.

  6] In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

  7] Therefore, behold, the days, come, saith the LORD, that they shall no more say, The LORD liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;

  8] But, The LORD liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.

  Note:

  Jeremiah as well as Daniel, Isaiah, and Ezekiel told about the last days when the children of Israel will again dwell in their own land. The children of Israel had been with out their own country for about two thousand year. In May 1948 the General Zionist Council at Tel Aviv established Israel as a sovereign state. Jeremiah was long in his grave by then, but God’s promises stand true. There is more to God’s promise than just to establish Israel in their own land, but He promised that THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS ( Jehovah-tsidkenu) shall reign as King and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.

  Psalms 24: 8-10

  8] Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.

  9] Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

  10] Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah

  Revelation 19:11-16

  11]And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

  12]His eyes were as a flame of fire and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

  13]And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

  14]And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

  15]And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of almighty God.

  16] And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

  Note:

  We know Jesus is the LORD of hosts, the armies of heaven follow him. Jesus is that righteous Branch that came out of David “ I am the root and offspring of David” ( see Rev. 22: 16). Jesus will judge the earth in righteousness and justice , because he is our King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.
