Crash Course in Screenplay Format

    Words that go all the way across the page describe the action that occurs with in a scene.

Int./Ext.
    The beginning of a new scene. Signals wether a scene occurs indoors(Int.) or outdoors(Ext.)
    If there is a slash betwen the two, the scene may be a split screen, allowing both areas to be shown simultaneously.

    Format for acknowleding important events and introducing new characters.
 

    (beat)      A slight pause in speech.
 

                                  MARVIN                                       >Character Cue, precedes the dialogue spoken by the character.
         But. . .I was just having fun with my friends. >  Dialogue
                            (he drops the bat)                              > Action that occurs simultaneously with the dialogue spoken
