Based on the Christian Fiction novel by Kendra Norman- Bellamy.

Inspiration

This is a project I truly believe in as a film.  The budget would not be outlandish, no complications with setting or music, and the plot is deep.  The main characters divorced because of physical abuse resulting from depression and alcoholism and the story is about hope and forgiveness, for themselves, for their past mistakes, hope for the future. I also enjoyed the subplot dealing with an African man’s perception of marriage. I would love to see it on the big screen.  Reading it, I quickly envisioned it as my “Crash” film. Because there are so many elements that could be told in any order, so many places it could start from and flash back to, I believe it would keep the audience constantly engaged.  And though it is Christian in nature, it remains very mainstream. I think it would be more successful in Hollywood than some others.  But I promised myself I would not start writing this adaptation until I finish one of the other top projects.  Right now, the story dances in my head and the novel sits on the shelf. novel by Kendra

Read the novel, constantly envisioning it as a screenplay, anticipating the portrayal of respectful, humble, truthful African American relationships, and a story which includes God in their lives, and most excitingly, as a “Crash” type film with rapid cuts and flashbacks because this story could be told in so many ways.

However, I have several important pieces to work on now, original scripts – Anna/Mistakes we make and my Novel, "T.Wilks" which may soon be published.  I spent the previous two months working on adaptations: African Skies and Betsey Brown and I promised myself I’d do it later.   I expect to have the first draft of this screenplay finished within the next two years. As well as the first draft for “Abraham’s Well”
