Unit Rancangan Tempatan
Johor (URT Johor) was established in 1981 and was formerly known as
Unit Pelan Struktur Majlis Perbandaran Johor Bahru, Mukim Plentong dan
Pasir Gudang.
|
 |
In 1987, in line with the
restructuring of Town and Country Planning Department, URT was directly
under the administration of Jabatan Perancangan Bandar dan Desa (JPBD)
southern branch.
|
 |
Meanwhile, the major task
for URT is to prepare the Johor Timur Structure Plan which comprises of
3 districts namely, Kota Tinggi, Mersing and Kluang districts. Hence,
URT has successfully completed 8 structure plans ever since.
|
 |
In 1993, URT office has
moved to Johor State Planning, which is located at Bangunan Sultan
Ibrahim with a total number of 15 permanent officers of varied
positions.
|
 |
Once again in 1997, with
another major restructuring of our organization, URT was set directly
under the Pejabat Projek Melaka (PPM), Jabatan Perancangan Bandar dan
Desa (JPBD) Semenanjung Malaysia. The number of officers has then
decrease to 12 people.
|
 |
In addition, URT is also
responsible in the involvement and implementation of Development and
District Planning Projects, Suburban Growth Centre and Resettlement of
the “ Aboriginal Villages “ Project.
|
 |
Finally, December 20 2002,
URT office officially moved to a new floor space at Bangunan ANG, Taman
Tasek with a new “face-lift”, and to date we have only 9
officers attached to URT.
