Built near the ocean, main city sits on cliff, split by ravine. Large, ornate bridges connect the two halves of the city.
The conditions underneath the city, however, are squalid compared to the wealth above. Inexpensive housing and shops make up a confusing network of tunnels. The cities barracks, armory, and vaults are also located underground. Buildings: Temple of Caduceas – Built into the back corner of the ravine, and extending 40 feet down to the bottom, the temple is a feat of engineering. Towers with pyres light the area surrounding the city at night, and during the day an elaborate series of mirrors shines light through stained glass. A ship, miles away can see the colored glass shining through the ravine, and travelers can follow the glittering red and blue glass during the day and the flames at night. Temple of Arolian – A worthy show to the goddess of protection, this temple is heavily reinforced and stretches in a semicircle, from the face of the cliff to around the temple of Caduceas. The main part of the temple is a towering structure, ordained with the symbol of the Arolian faith, and once acted as the main gate to the city. Along the sides of the temple are four towers, each with a gate built into them, to allow passage through the city. The towers are manned by the cities guards, and the gates can only be opened from the top of the tower. Temple of Turek – The temple of Turek is a simple platform, with an ornate marble building serving as the meeting place for the Turek priests. This temple is no less impressive, however, as it is built into the cliffs, using bridges and struts of stone and metal for support. At the center of the temple, there is a cutaway part of the floor, and visitors throw small rocks into the ravine, listening for any kind of noise as the object hits the ground close to 50 feet below. Barracks – Through completely underground, the barracks are large enough to accommodate even the largest of Centaurs. The entrance to the barracks curves inward and doesn’t jut out into the ravine, so an accident or sabotage can’t cut the city off from the Sentinels. The leader is a priest of Dalgar, and is on the ruling council. .
