The
Ruweng People Association is a non-profit humanitarian
organization founded by Ruweng refugees. We have members throughout
the United States, Canada, Australia, and eastern Africa. Currently,
the major focus of our organization is to help our people in
Sudan. Our people have remained in isolation since 1983 when
the civil war in Sudan began. Our people were the first to be
attacked by the Arab militias who were sponsored by the government
in northern Sudan. Our people were killed; our herds of cattle,
sheep, and goats were taken or killed; and our crops were destroyed.
Our people were left with nothing but hunger, disease, and fear.
Over
twenty years have now passed. Our people are still suffering.
They have no clean drinking water, no sanitation systems,
no medical care, and no schools.
The
Ruweng People Association is a voice crying out to
the world to bring help to the Ruweng people.
