It's been thirteen years (almost) since Jackie came into our lives, bringing sunshine and happiness with her. Now she has reached the age of Jewish accountability and will become Bat Mitzvah. We hope this website will keep you--our family and friends-- informed and make you feel part of the day...even if you are unable to attend the ceremonies.

On Friday, December 19, we invite our out-of-town guests to a Shabbat Dinner and Menorah Lighting at our house. We'll begin at 6:30 P.M. and wind things up by 10:00 as we will want to rise early. Then, services begin at 9:00 A.M. at the synagogue. Rickie and Cindy will lead the early parts of the service and Jackie will begin the Torah Service at approximately 10:00 A.M. Morning services will conclude around noon and a Kiddush luncheon will follow in the synagogue social hall. At 5:00 P.M., we invite our out-of-town guests to a celebratory dinner (again at our house). At 7:00 we will adjourn and travel to the synagogue social hall for dessert and a stage show by the Junior Walker's All Stars. Local guests will be arriving at 7:30 and curtain is at eight.

Although Monster Island is a real place, the proprietors do not want the location to become too well known, fearing that twould then be overrun by the greatest monster of all: man. So my trip there was planned in secret and I had to remain blindfolded during my flight.

But it was all worth it, Monster Island was the best vacation I've ever had. Being able to walk up to a 20 foot high bug was just about the coolest thing in the world. I thought the giant ape and other "Monsters" on the island would be in cages, or inaccessible, but tare quite friendly and accessible.
