John Giglio passed away in Marietta, Ga., on Aug. 14, 2008, at the age of 101. John was born in Tampa, Fla., on Nov. 19, 1906. He was the son of the late Mr. Peter Giglio and Mrs. Nancy T. Giglio. His daughter, Susan G. Gramelt of Appomattox, also preceded him in death.
John is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mrs. Violet Giglio. His sons, Jack Giglio of Tampa, Fla., and Thomas Giglio of South Boston, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, also survive him. He lived much of his life in Virginia Beach and was recently living in Marietta, Ga., with his granddaughter.
John went to Sweeny Auto and Aviation School in Kansas City and later graduated from Rhodes University in New York City. He lived a long and happy life as a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather.
A family viewing will be held at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta, Ga., today, Aug. 15, 2008.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
