This week's devotion is entitled:

Trait #5: Patience

Christians should have incredible patience with others and with frustrating situations. This character trait ties in with Love for All. Read these verses on patience and pray the prayer following them. This week I encourage you to memorize one or all of the verses and pray this prayer every night so that you can attain this Christian Character Trait.

Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act. Don't worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.
~Psalm 37:7 (NLT)

Be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other's faults because of your love.
~Ephesians 4:2 (NLT)

The end of a thing is better than its beginning; The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. Do not hasten in your spirit to be angry, For anger rests in the bosom of fools.
~Ecclesiastes 7:8-9 (NKJV)

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for all of the patience You have shown me, as I sin and sin again and every time You forgive me and wipe my slate clean. Help me to have the patience with others—friends, family, and foes—that You have with me. Help me to show others the love You that have for them through my patience with them. Help me to have patience with frustrating situations and learn to trust You to take care of me. Help me learn to be patient and wait for Your timing, because sometimes You answer our prayers in Your time, and I need to be patient and trust You as I wait. Thank You for Your patience with me and Your help in making my character better. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
