This week's devotion is entitled:
I wanted to share with you guys something that God has really put on my heart lately that I think He's been trying to teach me.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes....
My bookbag that I use for school says "Yes, I am a CHRISTIAN" in plain view on it and I wear a cross everyday. It's not that I think these things will bring me good luck, or that they make me a Christian, or win me salvation; but these things are an outward expression of what's on the inside of my heart. My words and actions show that I am a Christian, and I am not ashamed to let anyone know that. I am not ashamed, I do not hide, I do not back down, I do not compromise, and I am not afraid to tell the world that I am living for God.
It's important as a Christian to be able to stand up and witness for God in front of people who will judge you, who will ridicule you, who will try to disprove you, who will call you names, who will persecute you. It's important to be able to stand up in a crowd and say: "I am a Christian. I believe in God and I love Him because He's my Father. He loves me, and He loves you, whether you choose to believe it or not."
The Bible says in Matthew (10:32, and other verses throughout the Gospels) that if you cofess the name of Jesus before people, He will confess your name before His Father God when it is time for you to enter the gates of Heaven. I don't know about you guys, but I'd really like to enter Heaven.
So if there are areas of your life where you are hiding God, if there are people who you need to witness to that you have not witnessed to, that's something you really need to take the time to pray about and work on. Satan loves it when you're ashamed of God's name.
