This week's devotion is entitled:

For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.
This morning my pastor preached on not giving up. Sometimes in our Christian walk, we tire of the struggles. We see so many obstacles in our way that we begin to see things from a pessimistic viewpoint and we believe that nothing can be done about it. We have all done it, we have thought about giving up on being a Christian--or even giving up on God.
The way my pastor put it was: "The next time you think you've got it so bad that you just can't take it anymore, I want you to take me to your house and show me the inside of your refridgerator." I want you to look at the verse at the top of this devotion very carefully. Think about it very hard. Think about all of the suffering Jesus endured. The Passion of the Christ simply touches on the pain and suffering Christ endured for us. How much are you willing to endure for Him?
When you feel hopeless and discouraged, just remember what Jesus was able to endure because of His love for us.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
