This week's devotion is entitled:
Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.
~Psalm 46:10 (NIV)
Be silent, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.
~Psalm 46:10 (NLT)
Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
~Psalm 46:10 (NKJV)
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.
~Pslam 46:10 (ASV)
No matter which version you read, the main principle of this verse rings true: Let go, and let God. Alot of times in my life I am burdened by stress until I become frantic and depressed. You can get overwhelmed by all of the things you have to deal with, especially if you like to worry too much like I do. It's been scientifically proven that worry and stress can take a physical toll on your body, which is why Jesus told us over 2,000 years ago not to worry about tomorrow.
Lately I have been under alot of personal stress, and I finally gave up and gave it to God. It's a HUGE thing to let go of the things that are burdening your mind and soul and trust God to take care of them. But just as trust is an integral part of any human-to-human relationship, it is also an integral part of any human-to-God relationship. We have to learn to trust God with our lives unconditionally and blindly. A God that will be exalted in the whole earth is able to handle your financial, relationship, family, health, school, work, and spiritual problems--all at the same time.
This week I encourage you to trust God more. Let Him handle the things that have gotten out of your hands, and spend your time focusing on walking the path of life with Him.
