This week's devotion is entitled:
This week's devotion is a "Think About This One." That means I'm going to post a verse about a certain topic, this one being about God's goodness to us, in multiple translations, and you decide what it means to you as you draw from the different interpretations of it. How would you word that verse if it you were writing your own translation of the Bible? Here's Isaiah 64:4.
Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him. NIV
For from days of old they have not heard or perceived by ear, Nor has the eye seen a God besides You, Who acts in behalf of the one who waits for Him. NASB
Since before time began no one has ever imagined, No ear heard, no eye seen, a God like you who works for those who wait for him. The Message
For since the world began, no ear has heard, and no eye has seen a God like you, who works for those who wait for him! NLT
For since the beginning of the world Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, Nor has the eye seen any God besides You, Who acts for the one who waits for Him. NKJV
