This week's devotion is entitled:
When you are honoring God's temple (your body) by keeping it pure, you can focus more on your relationship with Him and spreading His Word. Read these verses on purity and pray the prayer following them. This week I encourage you to memorize one or all of the verses and pray this prayer every night so that you can attain this Christian Character Trait.
Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God's people.
We pull down every proud obstacle that is raised against the knowledge of God; we take every thought captive and make it obey Christ.
God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for laying out the scripture as a path for my feet, showing me where I should and should not go. Help me to lead a pure life. Help me to save myself for marriage and keep my actions and thoughts pure along the way. Help me to avoid all types of sexual temptation and find the way out when I find myself trapped in the temptation, Lord. Help me to treat my body as a temple, Your temple, as You intended for me to treat it, and not as trash the way the world and Satan want me to treat it. Help me to keep my thoughts on You and Your kingdom, not on carnal things and impure things. Help me remember to pray for Your help every time temptation arises, Lord. Thank You for Your help and for Your Word to guide me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
