This week's devotion is entitled:

Spread the Comfort Around: Pain Part 3

He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When others are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. You can be sure that the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ.
~2 Corinthians 1:4-5 (New Living Translation)

This week in our pain series, we'll talk about how we can minister to others in their pain. You know, God may allow pain and suffering among His children to serve a purpose among His children, but He also allows it to happen outside the body of Christ so that those inside the body of Christ can witness to the sufferers.

Just the way that you are more sensitive to God when you are hurting, and His power works better in your weakness (see last week's devotion), non-Christians are more sensitive to God when they are hurting, and His power works better in their weakness. People are more willing to listen to a comforting message (like the message of redemption, forgiveness, love, and eternal life in the Gospel) when they are actively seeking comfort from their aflictions. They are more likely to receive the message of Jesus enduring unbelievable pain and suffering so that they could be unbelievably happy.

This week, I want you guys to think about the places that pain has it's purpose. Read over the 3 parts that have been posted in the series so far in preparation for the 2 that are coming up. I want everyone to take some kind of revelation away from this study.
