This week's devotion is entitled:
This week's devotion comes from 5b the Beginning by Judah Smith.
Immorality is the search for affection. Looking for attention, affection, and meaningful relationships, young people often fall into Satan's trap of deceitful desires and sexual immorality. The Bible tells us in the last days there will be those, "without self-control" and "lovers of pleasure." (2 Timothy 3:3,4)
For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
The epidemic of immorality today can only be overcome with true and genuine love. As Christians we re to be examples of this selfless giving. Now that we are free from the bondage of sin and rebellion we can experience real covenant relationships with pure affections. We can learn to serve each other in love.
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,
For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God; that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified. For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness.
Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.
