Chapter 2

That following morning, Micky woke up to his alarm clock and got ready to go into work for his lessons. His boss, James, was standing at the counter watching his every move as he walked into the store. "Morning," Micky yawned he was so tired.

"Morning," James replied still never taking his eyes off of Micky. Micky got himself a cup of coffee and sat down on the stool for a minute and took a sip. "I am so sleepy," Micky yawned.

"Late night with your friend?" James asked.

"Nope, she's in Massachusetts right now." Micky replied.

James walked to the practice room and closed the door. Micky looked towards the door and thought to himself, "Leave me alone, please."

Micky finished his cup of coffee and then got the room ready for his first student. His mind was thinking about Elaine and he was wondering what she was doing at that exact moment.

~~~~~~~~~~
Back in Massachusetts, Naomi woke up for a brief moment and went to the bathroom. When she came back to the bed, Elaine was still snoring as loudly as ever. Naomi crawled back in the bed next to her friend and gave her a gentle kiss on the cheek. She had missed Elaine so much while she was gone. Naomi then heard her bell being rang and that was her cue that her folks needed help.
Just as she opened the bedroom door, Louise walked in front of her and said, "I'll get it. You go back to sleep."
"You sure?" Naomi asked.
"Yes, positive." Louise replied.
"Thanks." Naomi said turning around and going back to the bed getting underneath the covers. As she laid there on the bed, she heard Elaine's snoring, which was more like deep breathing, although you could hear how plugged up Elaine's sinuses were as well.
Naomi had the same problem, so she could relate to what her friend went through at times. Shortly after a quiet prayer, Naomi's eyes relaxed back in her head and she fell back to sleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Elaine had ended up staying two weeks up there to help her friends with everything; not to mention, she did have time off from work to use up before she lost it and she thought what better time.

However, when she returned back to California after the two-week stay, she was extremly not happy with the welcome she had received when she called up Micky on the phone announcing that she was home.

"That's nice. Hope you had a good time." Micky said in a snarky tone to her.

"What is wrong?" Elaine asked yawning and stretching out her arms and legs.

"Oh let's see, nothing!" Micky said rocking back in his chair and lifting the legrest up.

"Something is bothering you. What is it?" Elaine asked.

"Nothing. I need to go now." Micky said hanging up the phone on her.

Elaine thought to herself, "Well, okay then." She wrapped up in her blankets, stretched out her arms and legs on the couch, and fell asleep with the TV on very faintly after she had called her friends in Massachusetts letting them know she arrived home safely. She ended up sleeping the entire night and into the following afternoon.

That following afternoon, she went to the park and sat under the tree and closed her eyes. She breathed in the fresh air and just enjoyed the quietness of God's beauty all around her. When she did open her eyes, she found Micky sitting in front of her staring at her.

"Micky! Don't scare me like that." she said to him.

"Feeling's mutual, Elaine." Micky said standing up and walking away from her.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Elaine asked standing up and walking towards him.

"It means, you should have called me to let me know you were staying for a while. I was worried you died in a plane crash or something." Micky screamed at her and then walked away.

"You knew I would stay for a while." Elaine said in her defense.

"I thought couple of days, not two weeks." Micky replied.

"I'm sorry," Elaine said. "I was busy helping the girls with Naomi's parents and I just lost track of time."

Micky walked to his car, got inside, and drove away. He was not talking to her at that moment in time.

"Geesh!" Elaine said to herself as she walked back to her car and got inside. She drove back to her apartment and got her Sunday school class materials done for her class. Then she took a long, hot shower, washed her long, waist-length hair, and enjoyed the warmth of the water on her tired body.

When she finished, she put on her body lotion and pajamas and then curled up on her couch, turned on her TV very quietly, and then closed her eyes after setting her alarm. It had been over three weeks since she had seen her class and she hoped they didn't give the substitute a hard time while she was away.

~~~~~~~~~
Early that next morning, Micky was sitting in his chair out on his balcony staring at Elaine's apartment where the light was on. He was sipping a bottled water. He knew she would be getting ready for Church, however, Micky had decided he was not going to go that day.
At 6 am, Micky saw Elaine drive down the street. "Wow, she's early going to Church," Micky thought to himself considering her Church did not start until 8 am.
Elaine stopped at McDonald's and got her breakfast and then drove to Church sitting in the parking lot eating her breakfast before going in to set up early for her Sunday school class before the service started.
In her classroom, she found Charlotte sitting there with her head in her hands. "Charlotte?" Elaine asked concerned for her friend.
"Elaine, you're back." Charlotte said shocked.
"Yes, got back the other day." Elaine replied. "How did it go here while I was away?"
"Horrible!" Charlotte replied. "Susan had to come and help me because they were all screaming horribly every single week because you weren't here. They threw their drinks and crackers all over the papers I was trying to get them to work on.
Then Miss Eligah walked down and saw the complete and total chaos and screamed at me after the class was done with. Poor Susan went home in tears they were just so mean to us."
"I'm sorry you had to endure that, Charlotte." Elaine said giving her friend a hug. "I'm so happy you were here with them though."
"Please find someone else if you're going to be gone. They were absolute monsters. I almost hit Jay Jay one day I was so mad at him for throwing a wad of gum in my hair after my hairdresser had made up for me so nicely the day before." Charlotte said.
"I am so sorry they acted that way towards you and Susan. I will definitely have a talk with them and their parents." Elaine replied giving Charlotte another hug.
"Would you be willing to help me with today's class of sitting the entire hour with their heads down on the table as punishment?" Elaine asked. "Only if I can have my Coca-Cola in here to help me keep my sanity." Charlotte said. "Of course, here's the money and you get me one too, okay?" Elaine asked. "Okay," Charlotte said smiling at her friend. "I am so glad you are back. How are your friends?" "They're good. My friend's parents are doing so much better, even her father who was mean and spiteful being in a room full of women was in a better mood before I left." "Praise God!" Charlotte said. "Yes, praise God." Elaine replied. When the kids arrived, they started yelling, "Miss Neece, Miss Neece."
Elaine took a sip of her Coke, stood up tall and smacked her ruler. "Miss Neece is not here today. Her evil side has taken over today and every single one of you will be sitting at that table with your head down the entire hour."
"What for?" Candace asked as her daughter, Lizzie, took her seat.
"Punishment for being rude to my helpers while I was away in a different state helping friends." Elaine said. "Candace, let me talk to you outside."
Elaine looked at the kids and said in her stern voice, "Put those heads down immediately and stay there. No talking or crying either or I will spank with the ruler." Elaine took Candace out to the lobby and explained what had happened while she was gone.
"I'm not really going to spank them. I just want them to realize they were naughty to my helpers and that was very un-Christian-like of them."
"Tough learning lesson, but you have my agreement in doing so." Candace said. Elaine smiled at her and gave her a hug. "Thanks for your understanding." Elaine said.
"You're welcome." Candace replied. "I'll be back after the service."
"We'll be here." Elaine said. Elaine walked back into the room and all twenty of her students had their heads on the table very quiet. Elaine said sternly, "No talking the entire hour. If you have to use the bathroom, you will raise your hand, but you are not allowed to talk. Got it?" Neither Elaine nor Charlotte spoke the entire hour either. It was pure silence.
After the hour was up and the parents came to pickup the kids, all of them still had their little heads on the table. Elaine walked up and greeted the parents and explained to them what she had done the hour. They all whispered, "Wish they behaved for us at home."
"A little sternness is not wrong. But you have to be willing to hold up to it as well." Elaine said.
Elaine turned towards the kids and said, "If you ever misbehave like that again to my helpers, I will quit being the teacher of this class. You may go to your parents now." All the kids walked over to Elaine and hugged her legs. They were so sorry for what they had done. Elaine smiled and waved at the parents and Charlotte looked at Elaine and said,
"You achieved it. I can't believe it."
"They know that I will not tolerate that." Elaine said taking another sip of her pop.
Back at her apartment that day, Elaine found six messages on her machine. She listened to them and then deleted most of them. They were from the girls giving updates on Naomi's parents appointments. Elaine went into her room and changed out of her Church clothes putting on a pair of shorts, t-shirt, socks, tennis shoes, and just relaxing around the house. She wrapped up in her blanket and layed down on the couch. Just as she closed her eyes, the phone rang. She let the machine get it, as she was not standing up just to answer the phone. She listened to the message.
"Um hi Elaine. It's Micky. I just wanted to call and apologize for the other day when I was so rude to you at the park. I hope you're doing good. Please forgive me." The phone hung up. Elaine prayed quietly until she fell asleep. She had a busy morning. That following week, Elaine enjoyed her last week of vacation and was busy cleaning her apartment and redecorating it. She was so proud of herself because she was at the "Home Decorating World" she had found in her little drive around the city, and found beautiful paints that she wanted to paint her walls. She could do anything in the apartment she wanted to, per her lease, that she re-read again. She was so happy. She worked it out to paint one room a day and sleep in another room. It was perfect for her. She was also happy at the final look at the place. It was as follows:
Master Bedroom (Elaine's room) painted bright Mauve pink with new pink tieback curtains to match her white blinds that were already installed and her pink carpeting that was already installed.
Master Bathroom painted in mauve and baby blue aquatic themed shower curtain, wall decorations, and towels. She had also bought some non-slip decorations for the bottom of her bathtub as well to keep her from slipping in the shower.
In the Kitchen, Elaine was able to clean out her cabinets and refrigerator and put a fresh batch of food that she had just bought at the supermarket into the cabinets and refrigerator. She smiled. Her livingroom was painted sunshine yellow to bring in the sunlight from outside.
In the Livingroom, she had re-arranged it completely by moving the furniture around and steamcleaned the furniture and the carpeting. Her livingroom was painted a bright white to give it a more open and clean look.
And in her regular bathroom, she had cleaned and re-decorated that in neutral colors of mint green and blue. She also bought fresh towels to use if she had a guest.
In the spare bedroom, which was also her computer room, she re-did the bed with her new sheets and comforter she had bought. She also re-did the paint job in that room as well in very mild light blues and light pinks. When she was finished cleaning that room, she was so tired. But she smiled knowing it was totally and completely finished.
After her long, warm shower, to cool off her hot, sweaty body, from all the work she had accomplished that day, she put on her footed pajamas she had bought herself and went into the livingroom sitting on the couch by her phone she had been able to move since she bought a new, longer, cord. As she was doing her deep breathing exercises, the phone rang. She picked it up, "Hello."
"Hi!" she heard on the phone.
"Hello," she said again. "Who is this?"
"This is Micky." she heard in response to her question.
Elaine sighed and said, "Yes?"
"I was wondering would you like to go get something to eat tonight?" Micky asked her.
"No, I'm already in my pajamas and going to sleep early." Elaine replied in a not-so-nice tone.
"You're in your pajamas at 3 pm in the afternoon?" Micky asked.
"Yeah, what of it?" Elaine replied. "I think I deserve it."
"Sorry, just a little surprised that's all." Micky replied feeling her defensiveness against him. "Did you get my message about a week ago?"
"Yeah," Elaine replied and then sighed again.
"May I come over to see you, Elaine? I miss you." Micky asked in a gentle tone.
"Hello! I just said I was in my pajamas and going to sleep." Elaine smarted back. "No, you cannot come over and see me. I need to go now. Goodnight."
Before Micky could get a goodnight out, she had hung up the phone.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

That next day, Elaine woke up and could barely move. All the physical labor she had been doing finally caught up with her. "Oh dear heavens, I'm going to die." Elaine cried out in pain and agony as she tried to crawl herself into her kitchen to take some pain relievers. After she took four Naproxen, she walked very slowly back to her couch and moaned as she sat down. Even turning and lifting up her legs was nearly impossible because she was so stiff and sore. "Oh please God help me to get through this awful pain." she cried out to him. At least her phone was closer to her now and her cell phone was always left near her. She tried to adjust her pillow, but felt so uncomfortable. She hated to do it because she knew she would have to forgive and forget, but she had no other alternative...she called Micky.

"Hello," she heard after ringing his line.

"Micky?" Elaine gasped her ribs hurt her so to breathe.

"What's wrong, Elaine?" Micky asked sensing she was in trouble.

"Can you come to my building and have the landlord let you in please? I can't move hardly at all." Elaine asked.

"You were fine yesterday. What happened?" Micky asked.

"I spent the week redecorating the apartment and moving all my heavy furniture by myself. Everything has caught up to me today and I am in so much pain and agony that I just crawled to the kitchen to take my pain relievers." Elaine replied and then gasped her ribs hurt her so much.

"Well, unfortunately Elaine, I can't come over right now because I have drum lessons to give today." Micky said. "I can come over after 6 pm tonight though."

"Hopefully I won't be dead then," Elaine replied. "Fine, but please try to come over as soon as possible."

"Oh wait, Elaine. I'm sorry, I forgot. I can't come over tonight either. I kind of have a date." Micky said.

"You what?" Elaine asked raising her voice.

"I have a date." Micky said biting his lip.

"Since when?" Elaine asked annoyed.

"Well since a friend invited me out on one. I'm sorry I can't be there for you, Elaine. I know you'll be fine. I hate to cut you short, but I do need to get to work." Micky said.

"Thanks for nothing!" Elaine said hurt and confused as she hung up the phone on him. She turned on her side and started to cough and cry.

Micky walked out to his balcony and looked over at Elaine's apartment. He couldn't see the light anymore. What he did see though was a huge white shade on the window. She had covered the window up that he could see her light on.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
After Micky's drum lessons were over and he was taking a shower to go on his date, his phone started to ring and it went to the machine. When he came out of the bathroom, he listened to his message. "Hey Mick, it's Mike. Hopefully I caught you before you left, Tasha backed out on the date with her friend Tiffany. Apparently Tiffany got too scared at meeting someone new and Tasha didn't feel right leaving her alone. Sorry cowboy, maybe another time." Micky called Mike back to confirm it was actually cancelled. When Micky found out for sure it was cancelled, he ordered a pizza and went to pick it up for him and Elaine. When he arrived at Elaine's, the landlord let him inside the apartment and Elaine was still lying on the couch. Micky looked around at all the vibrant colors and thought, "Wow, she has been busy." He walked into the kitchen and was just amazed at how beautiful it was decorated. Everything was rearranged with labels on each shelf indicating what was there. Very neatly intricated. He was very impressed with Elaine. Micky found the paper plates above the label "Paper Plates" and then pulled them out. He washed his hands and used some of her kitchen soap. Then he brought Elaine over a plate of pizza and said, "I am here after all, Elaine."
"Hmm?" she asked rolling her head to the side and wincing.
"It's me, Micky. I bought a pizza for the both of us and some 20 ounce Coke's."
Elaine looked at him and he said, "Go back to sleep. I'll put yours in the fridge for later." He walked back to the kitchen and put hers away while he sat in the kitchen eating his half and drinking his Coke. He could tell just from the look on her face that she was sleepy.
When he was finished with his pizza, he looked around the apartment and saw all the hard work she had done that week. He was truly amazed at her independence, for she could have called him to help her.
An hour later, Elaine woke up screaming, "Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, get away from me. Please!"
"What's wrong, Elaine?" Micky asked walking over to her.
Elaine moved herself to the end of the couch and curled up in a ball crying, "Please don't hurt me."
"I'm not going to hurt you, sweetie. It's Micky," he said. Elaine looked at him and was frantic. "Don't hurt me," she cried out. "Please don't hurt me."
"I won't," Micky said not understanding what had happened to her.
Suddenly, Elaine's cell phone rang and she screamed, "Ahhhh."
Micky picked it up, "Hello?" "Is Elaine there please? This is her friend Samantha."
"Um, she's here. However, she just woke up screaming and is not coherent. I don't know what's wrong with her. This is Micky."
"She had a nightmare, Micky. She has dreams that Satan is going to kill her. Let me talk to her please. Stay calm. She'll be fine."
Micky put the phone up to her and said, "It's your friend, Samantha."
"Don't touch me!" Elaine said to him gently taking the phone out of his hands. "Sam, he did it again," Elaine cried out in horror.
"I'm sorry sweetie," Samantha said. "Try to calm down and focus on your breathing."
"I can't." Elaine said.
"Yes, you can. Put one hand on your tummy and let it rise and fall with your breathing." Samantha coached her friend. Micky sat back in the chair and just let Sam talk to Elaine. He watched her slow down her breathing and remained very quiet.
"Elaine, Micky will not harm you. You had a nightmare." Sam said reassuring her friend she was safe.
"I want to come home!" Elaine cried out. "I hate it here."
"You need to talk to management at your work then, Elaine. We can't help you from here." Samantha said.
"I miss everyone so much." Elaine cried out into the phone.
Micky sat there with his heart sinking in two. He didn't want her to leave. He was just getting to know her. Samantha said, "Elaine, you need to calm down or you will hyperventilate and scare Micky to pieces. He's already frightened thinking you mean he's the enemy."
"Micky's not here," Elaine said. "He had a date last night."
"He is there. He answered your phone." Samantha said. "You were out of it and didn't realize it."
Elaine looked around the room and it was empty. She blinked a few times and it was still empty. "No, he's not here. I just looked."
"Well, he was there. I'm telling you he answered the phone and said that he didn't know what to do for you." Samantha said. Elaine looked around the room again and it was still empty. She felt faint. "I need to go Sam. I'm gonna pass out."
"Call me later." Samantha said.
"Okay," Elaine replied hanging up the phone and collapsing back on her pillow fainting.
Back at Micky's apartment, he sat at his drum kit and started banging on it until he broke through his snare drum and then threw it across the room. He was so mad at what was happening with him and Elaine that he did not know how to cope any longer. He layed on his bed and shortly, thereafter, went to sleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Saturday morning came and Elaine woke up feeling extremely groggy and sick. She was not in anymore physical pain, although she was feeling extremely nauseous. She slowly made her way to the bathroom and then to her refrigerator to get a Coke and reached inside grabbing a 20 ounce bottle. She looked at it for a minute and asked herself, "How did this get here?" She sat on her chair staring at the refrigerator that had a box of pizza in it as well. "What about this?"

She blinked a few times and it was still there. She pulled out the box and looked at the receipt. It read: pickup by M. Dolenz.

"M. Dolenz?" Elaine thought to herself. Then she realized Micky was really there in her apartment. "Oh dear God, maker of heaven and early, please don't let it be true," she said making her way to her phone in the livingroom and called Micky.

The phone rang and rang. Finally she got the machine. Her heart was pounding like crazy. "Micky, this is Elaine. I have no idea what happened yesterday, but please know that my nightmare was not from you. Please call me when you get my message and I will explain. Please call me, Micky. I really need to talk to you. Thanks." She took her nausea medication and layed down on the couch again. She prayed to God, "Please God help him to call me soon, please, please, please. I pray this in your precious son Jesus' name. Amen."

As the morning went on, still no phone call from Micky. Elaine took another nausea pill and slowly made her way to the bathroom again, only this time, she took a shower and then got dressed. She needed to go and find Micky to explain to him what had happened the night before. She drove by his apartment and didn't see his car. She drove to the park and found his car in the lot. She slowly walked to the tree she sits at and sat down. She was so weak, but she knew this needed to be done before she would be able to rest again. As she sat there looking all around, she started to quietly pray in her private prayer language. After ten minutes, she saw someone pass by her slowly and she yelled, "Micky, wait up. It's me, Elaine." Elaine crawled her way up to a standing position and walked towards him. "What do you want?" Micky asked in a hurtful tone.

"I left you a message at your apartment on the machine. I needed to talk with you." Elaine said.

"Yeah, I got that message and deleted it." Micky said wiping the sweat from his face and neck.

"Were you going to call me at least?" Elaine asked.

"No," Micky replied. "What do you want?"

"I wanted to explain about what happened when I woke up screaming." Elaine said pulling on her purse strap.

"Yeah, what about it?" Micky asked leaning up against the side of his car.

"Can we go for a pop or something and talk?" Elaine asked.

"No, I need to get to work soon." Micky said.

"Well, sometimes I wake up screaming because Satan is after me. He likes to attack me in my dreams because I'm God's child and he hates it. He attacks me and my three friends as well in our dreams." Elaine said.

"And, why should I care about that?" Micky asked.

"It's just why I was upset when I woke up. It had nothing to do with you being there." Elaine replied. "I was very out of it then and I'm sorry I was mean to you."

"Yeah, whatever, Elaine. I have to get to work soon. Bye." Micky said.

"How late do you work?" Elaine asked.

"Late." Micky replied. "Goodnight."

"Night." Elaine said disappointed. However, she went to her car and got inside. She drove herself back to her apartment and went inside. She layed down on the couch again and closed her eyes. She quietly prayed about the situation and then fell back asleep knowing that God would take care of her problems.

Back at the store, Micky was less than patient with the new students he was teaching that night. He found James coming up to him and asking, "Is there something wrong?"

"Why?" Micky asked smart.

"Because you're being kinda rude to the students." James replied.

"They aren't learning very quickly." Micky replied. "And it's driving me bonkers."

"Something wrong at home, Micky?" James asked.

"No, everything is fine. Look can I go home early tonight? Micky asked.

"Yes, maybe you should." James said. "I'll have Chris finish up the lessons."

"Thanks," Micky said grabbing his things and leaving. He got into his car and drove back towards his apartment. Except his car did not stop at his apartment. He found himself over at Elaine's in the parking lot. He got out and walked into the building to apartment number 12. He knocked on the door and Elaine's eyes opened wide. She wasn't expecting anyone. She went to the door and peeked out. When she saw Micky standing there, she opened the door. "What a nice surprise." Elaine said smiling at him.

"May I come in?" Micky asked.

"Of course," Elaine replied.

Micky walked into the apartment and Elaine closed the door and walked to the fridge asking, "Want a pop?"

"No, thank you." Micky replied. Elaine took a pop from the fridge and sat down on the couch.

"How was your lessons?" Elaine asked.

"Fine. I left early so I could come here." Micky replied.

"What's wrong?" Elaine asked covering up with her blanket. "Please sit down."

Micky sat down in the chair and swallowed hard. His heart started to pound as well.

Elaine looked at him again and asked, "What is it? You can tell me anything."

"Well, I wanted to come here to tell you that if you're moving back to Massachusetts, I would rather not be your friend anymore." Micky said putting his hands in his pocket, as he didn't want her to see him shaking like a leaf.

"Who said anything about me moving back to Massachusetts?" Elaine asked confused.

"You did, that day on the phone with Samantha." Micky replied.

"I was upset when I said that, Micky. I did not actually mean that." Elaine said. "I'm here as long as the Company wants me to be here."

"Well, you made it sound like it was my fault you wanted to leave. If I'm deterring you, I will stay away forever." Micky said standing up and walking to the door.

"Micky," Elaine said standing up and walking over to him. "It is not your fault. Believe me." "When I have nightmares, I am scared. My friends in Massachusetts all understand me when I'm like this. I am sorry you had to see me that way and hear me talk like that on the phone."

"I mean afterall, Elaine, if you are mad at me or think I'm the cause of all your turmoil here, please let's just stop being friends and move on with our lives. Because I don't want our friendship to develop more if you're just going to leave me." Micky said annoyed.

"Micky," Elaine said looking into his eyes and gently holding his face in her hands. "I am not leaving. It was a nightmare that Satan was going to kill me. It was not your fault. I enjoy our friendship very much and I am becoming more comfortable with you and more trusting. Do you think I would have re-done this whole entire apartment if I had any plans on leaving?"

"I guess not. It looks nice by the way." Micky said.

"Thanks," Elaine said kissing his cheek. However, Micky turned to face her more and they ended up kissing on the lips. Elaine did not pull away. She was shocked, however, she did not pull away. She held her arms around his shoulders and continued to kiss him. Micky put his hands on her waist and pulled her in gently towards him. What was happening between them?

After two minutes, Elaine broke apart from him and walked over to the kitchen. "Whoa! What just happened?" she asked.

"I don't know," Micky replied sitting down in the chair and catching his breath. Elaine opened the freezer and put her head inside for a moment, as she felt very warm and flushed. Then she walked to the couch and sat back down looking at him.

"I can't even understand what just happened." Elaine said wrapping up in her blanket feeling very awkward at the moment.

"I don't know either." Micky said. "But I'm not upset over it."

"Me neither, actually. However, it can't happen again." Elaine said. "I am not that type of woman."

"What type of woman?" Micky asked half hurt and confused.

"Makeout queen type of woman." Elaine said. "Besides, we are building a 'friendship' still, not a 'romantic friendship,' Micky."

"I understand that, Elaine." Micky said kicking his feet up on the legrest. "May I sleep over here tonight on the other couch?"

"Yes," Elaine said. "That would be fine." Elaine put her head back on her pillow while Micky walked to the other couch in the back of the room and got situated. "Night," he said.

"Goodnight Micky. Thanks for coming over tonight." Elaine said.

"You're welcome." Micky replied.

Elaine prayed in her prayer language for a bit and Micky asked, "What are you doing?"

"Praying, why?" Elaine asked.

"Never heard anyone pray like that before." Micky replied.

"It's a special way. I'm sorry, I'll be quieter." Elaine said praying silently to herself and then falling asleep. Micky took some deep breaths and then he slowly fell asleep.
