Sara and Grissom’s wedding day approached, and Sara was in the dressing room at her church with Sofia.
“It’s so wonderful that you and Gil are getting married after all these years.”
“I know, isn’t it?”
Sara was wearing a white lace and satin gown with inlaid pearls and a train. Her hair was pulled back in floral hair ties and she wore a lace veil. Her shoes were white satin pumps. Sofia’s dress was baby blue chiffon that had see through short sleeves and she was wearing white satin pumps as well.
“Sara, you look beautiful. Gil will love to see you before him.”
“Thanks Hon. You look beautiful too.”
They both walked out and Sara took her place beside Jim, who linked his arm with hers as they walked down the aisle with the Wedding March in the background.
“Sara, you look like the happiest woman in the world.”
“I am Jim, I really am.”
“I’m glad for both you and Grissom. You two have always deserved each other, but why did it have to take him 10 years to figure it out?”
“He’s dense but I love him that way.” Sara and Jim smiled and stifled a giggle.
He gave Sara to Grissom and she stood beside him. He took her hand and they interlaced fingers.
“Sara, you are ravishing.” Grissom whispered to his soon to be bride.
“You aren’t so bad yourself.”
They exchanged their vows, and kissed.
“I now present to you Dr. And Mrs. Gilbert Grissom.”
Everyone clapped and they went to the reception in the cafeteria of the church. Everyone sat and ate their meals, which consisted of either lemon pepper Alaskan Whitefish with buttered green beans and mashed potatoes with chicken gravy, or for the non-vegetarians, braised steak with Scalloped potatoes and buttered baby carrots.
After dinner, they cut the cake and Sara smashed cake in Grissom’s face. He smashed a piece in her face and then everyone ate cake.
After the cake, they opened gifts and Sofia wrote down everything they got. Catherine got Sara a red lace teddy.
“That’s for tonight.” Catherine winked at her and then whispered, “I have something else for you but I will show you before you leave.”
Sara nodded and wondered what it was that she couldn’t show her now. ‘It must be naughty.’ She mused to herself.
Then it was time for everyone to dance with the bride. They played “Always and Forever” by Heatwave since it was their song.
Jim danced with Sara first.
“So what did Catherine whisper to you earlier?”
“Jim! It’s private!”
“Ah, so she got you something naughty for Grissom, hm?” He had a grin a mile wide.
“Yes.” Sara blushed.
“You don’t need to blush Sara. You will be making your man happy tonight.”
“Jim, stop! I can’t help but blush. It’s my first time, okay?”
“It is?”
“Yes. You know I’m a Christian. Well I’ve been one for eight years and I believe in saving myself until marriage.”
“You mean you didn’t have any boyfriends before you were saved?”
“No. I had two before Griss and it was after.”
“Wow, it will be a special night for you in two ways. One it’s your wedding night, and two it’s your first time. It being with the man you love is even better. I wished that it was both of our first times when Sofia and I married.”
“Really?”
“Oh yeah. You’ll find out why when you finally have it.”
Cliff was next.
“Hey Sara girl. I’m so happy for you.”
“Thanks Cliff.”
“Sara, you know I’ve always wanted to see you two geeks together, and I’m glad that it finally came true.”
“I’m glad too.”
Most everyone danced with Sara, and Grissom was last. As he took her hand and put his other arm around her waist, he started to sway with her to the music.
“I can’t wait to make love to you Sara.” Grissom whispered in her ear.
“I can’t wait either. I’m getting excited just thinking about it. Jim told me that it will be a special night for me in two ways.”
“What ways?”
“One because it’s my wedding night and second because it’s my first time. He said he wishes that he and Sofia did it for the first time when they married because apparently that’s how special it is.”
“It is. You’ll find out tonight.”
“That’s what Jim said. It will be even more meaningful because we love each other. I’m glad I waited for you.”
“I’m glad you did too. I wish I had waited for you. It would have been really special for both of us. It will be special to me too, but you know what I mean.”
“Yes I do.”
After the reception, Catherine found Sara, took her hand and led her to Catherine’s Mercedes.
“Here sweetie, this is for you.” She held up a black satin teddy that indeed was very suggestive.
“Oh my, that is naughty.” Sara blushed.
“Honey, this is the ultimate in naughty. You wear this for your first time, Gil will be ecstatic and you will thank me for it.”
“How did you know?”
“You know how much Jim can’t keep secrets.”
“Oh man, I forgot. Who else did he tell?”
“Just me and Sofia, promise.”
“Okay. I don’t need vultures like Nick, Greg and Warrick knowing.”
“You don’t need to be ashamed. It’s very romantic that you are a virgin. If I wasn’t so horny all the time I would have wanted it that way when I married Warrick.”
“I’m not ashamed; I just don’t want the world to know.”
“I know hon, I know. Now go and surprise your husband and make him smile widely.”
Sara tucked the nighty in her duffle bag and she went over to the Audi where Grissom was waiting.
“What was that all about?”
“You’ll find out.”
They drove to the Hilton, which was downtown, and they got to their room, which was a Honeymoon Suite. They put down their bags, and fell into a passionate kiss.
“Sara I want you so bad.” Grissom hissed under his breath.
“I do too.”
They undressed quickly, and then Grissom stopped.
“What’s wrong?”
“We should take this slowly, I’m sorry Sara. It’s just that the day is finally here and I have so much love and lust for you. I’ll slow down so you can truly savor the moment.”
“Okay.”
He smothered her with kisses as he lowered her onto the bed. He then started to caress her body.
“Sara you are so ravishingly beautiful. I want to eat you up.”
They started to indulge in foreplay but she then remembered that she wanted to put on the nightie. She said, “Hold that thought, I’ll be back in a minute.”
She ran into the bathroom with the duffle bag and took out the naughty nightie that Catherine gave her. She put it on and looked in the mirror. ‘Ooh Griss will love this, and I’m already thanking her for it!’
She emerged and smiled widely at the expression on his face.
“So that’s what Catherine gave you.” He was grinning widely and he licked his lips.
“Yes. What do you think?”
“I love it. Come here.” He motioned her with his index finger.
They had fun with the naughty nightie. Grissom tied her up to the bedpost and she enjoyed it.
Afterwards, they lay in each other’s arms, caressing each other.
“Gil that was the best time of my life.”
“I’m glad that it was. Now you know what Jim and I mean?”
“Oh yes. Maybe later we can go for round #2?”
“You know it.”
They made love twice more that night, once being in the shower. They then slept peacefully until five in the afternoon and got up to eat dinner at a seafood restaurant on the Wharf. Sara and Gil both had lobster and shrimp with cocktail sauce.
The next morning they went back home to Sara’s apartment, sat on her Navajo couch and talked.
“Where do you want to live, Griss?”
“I can live here or in Vegas. It’s up to you sweetheart.”
“I do love my job, and I’m not sure I want to live in Vegas again.”
“So do you want to live here then?”
“Yeah. That’s okay with you then?”
“It’s fine by me. I’ll give my resignation. I’ll have to finish out the two weeks so you’ll be without me for a while.” Grissom frowned.
“I know babe, but I’ll make it.”
“Okay.”
Five days later, Grissom took the Audi back to Vegas and he finished out his two weeks.
While he was gone, Sara was getting sick. On the second week, she kept throwing up in the mornings and couldn’t eat. The one night, about two days before he was to come back to San Francisco, he called her to see how she was doing.
“Grissom.”
“Hey honey, how are you doing?”
“Gil, I’ve been throwing up every morning for the past three days. I don’t know what’s wrong with me.”
“You’ll have to go see the doctor. I don’t know what it is.”
The next day she made an appointment with the doctor. She told her the symptoms.
“Sara, have you had your period?”
“Come to think of it, no. I have that problem quite often though.”
“Sara, I’d like you to pee in the cup for me.”
“Okay.”
Sara did as she was told and she came back. She handed the doctor the cup and Dr. Anastasis came back a few minutes later.
“Sara, you’re pregnant.”
“Pregnant?” Sara grinned her gap-toothed grin.
“Yes. You will need to see your gynecologist, so I’ll have the receptionist make you an appointment.”
“Okay. I can’t wait to tell my husband, thank you so much!”
Sara got her appointment for the day after Grissom comes home, and she skipped home and called him.
“Grissom.”
“Griss, guess what?”
“What?”
“I’m pregnant!” She squealed with glee into the phone.
“You are?”
“Yes!”
“Oh that’s wonderful news! We’re going to have a baby! I need to tell everyone here before I leave tomorrow!”
“Just tell Jim. He’ll tell everyone for you.”
“True. Sara, I love you!”
“I love you too. See you tomorrow night. Oh we have an appointment with the gynecologist in two days.”
“Okay great. Bye honey.”
“Bye cuddle bug.”
Gil jumped up and down after he hung up the phone. He then dialed Jim at work.
“Brass.”
“Jim, guess what?”
“What?”
“Sara’s pregnant! I’m going to be a daddy!”
“Oh Grissom, I’m so happy for you both. Hey Cath! Sara’s having a baby!”
“Awesome! Hey Nick, Warrick! Sara and Gil are having a baby!”
“Congratulations Griss!” Nick and Warrick shouted to him.
“I see word gets around fast.” Grissom laughed.
“It sure does.”
They hung up and the next day, he left for home. Sara was waiting for him in the parking lot by their apartment when he pulled in. He got out of the car and ran over to her.
“I am ecstatic! How are you feeling mommy?” He hugged her and kissed her passionately.
“I’m still getting morning sickness but I’ll be okay by the third month I’m told.”
They went inside and Grissom placed his hand on her stomach. “I can’t believe we are going to be parents.”
“Me either. This is surreal isn’t it?”
“It sure is.”
“This calls for a celebration. I’m going to make you a vegetable lasagna and I have some sparkling grape juice to go with it.”
He made her the lasagna and they ate sitting close together at the dining room table.
“You know we’re going to have to buy a house to fit our growing family.”
“I know. I’d like a townhouse in town.”
“That’s fine, but it needs to be three bedrooms.”
“How many kids do you want?”
“I’d love to have three or four.”
“I’ll settle on three.”
“Okay, three it is then.”
“So, tomorrow after the appointment we need to look for a home.”
“Okay. Hey, are you going to work at the Crime Lab?”
“I don’t know yet. I am thinking of teaching.”
“That’s cool. I bet with your knowledge you can get a position at any of the schools around here.”
“Yeah, I bet I can. Thanks for your confidence in me.”
“So, Gil, you want to go to bed?” Sara winked.
“Ooh, to celebrate?”
“Exactly.”
The next morning, they went to the gynecologist, Dr. Stacey Greenbaum.
“Good morning Sara.”
“Hello Dr. Stacey. This is my husband Gil Grissom.”
“Nice to meet you. So you’re pregnant huh?”
“Yes. I’m so excited.”
“You should be. So tell me Sara, when was the last date of your period?”
“It was on May 16.”
“Okay, so let me look at the wheel here. You are due approximately February 14.”
“Oh Gil, a Valentines Day baby!”
“That’s romantic.”
“It sure is.”
“When you have your first ultrasound at around five months, we’ll be able to tell more.”
They left the appointment and talked on the way to the RE/MAX realtors’ office downtown.
“Gil, that means we got pregnant one of the first times we made love.”
“I know, isn’t that something?”
“Yes.”
They arrived at the office and walked into the brightly lit office that had hanging plants everywhere.
“May I help you?” A muscular built, but slender, tall man that looked in his 20’s asked.
“Yes, we are looking for a townhouse in town.”
“Okay, let me get the printouts and find out what listings we have.”
He looked on the printouts and found three listings for townhouses in San Francisco. He drove them to all three and they looked at them. They didn’t like any of them.
“Do you have anything else perhaps in one of the outskirts?”
“I do as a matter of fact. It just came on the market yesterday. It’s in Oakland.”
“Okay.”
He drove them over to 75 Rosedale Place in Oakland. It was a beautiful Tudor style three-floor townhouse with three bedrooms and a walk-up attic on the third floor that can be made into fourth and fifth bedrooms or a den.
“Sara, it’s wonderful. What do you think?”
“Yes I love it. We’ll have to go to the bank and get a loan.”
“Okay. We’ll take it. We really like it.”
“Great. Go to your bank and apply for the loan. We’ll be in touch.”
