Sara Sidle was walking on the Las Vegas strip one night on vacation. She worked there 10 years before with a wonderful team, and she was in love with the supervisor, Gil Grissom. He never returned his feelings for her and she was crushed. She still thought about him a lot, wondering what happened to him and if he ever married. Sara never married. She tried dating a couple men but it never worked out.
Sara is now 28 years old. She has raven colored long hair with no gray. She is about 5’ 8” and is thin with pallor skin. She is wearing a red tank top with black shorts and red Converse All Stars with black socks. Just then in the near distance she spotted him in the crowd of people. He looked the same except he was gray in the temples. He had a beard and mustache, and he was wearing a navy polo top and khaki Dockers. He was now 43. She decided she would walk up to him.
“Griss?”
His blue eyes locked on her brown ones. “Sara Sidle! Oh wow, I can't believe it’s you! It’s been how long?”
“Ten years. So how have you been?” They stepped off into a doorway of one of the casinos to talk.
“I've been good, how about you?”
“The same.”
“Where are you working now? Are you still a CSI?”
“I am working in San Francisco as a CSI. I take it you are still working here?”
“Yes I am. I was on my way to work now. Just about everyone is still there, would you like to see them?”
“I sure would!”
They continued talking as they were walking to the Crime Lab.
“So Sara, are you married?” He was hoping the answer was no; he still carried feelings for her.
“No, I never married. How about you?”
“No, same here. I just never found anyone good enough to marry.” No one as good as you, he thought.
“Yeah, same here. So who’s left at the Lab?”
“Everyone but Greg. He went on to Los Angeles where he settled down with a lovely lady named Jasmine. They have three kids.”
“Wonderful.”
They arrived at the Crime Lab and Sara got to say hi to everyone again. Jim Brass married Sofia Curtis and they have two children, Heidi and Erika. Warrick Brown married Catherine Willows and they have one child named Eric. Nick is still single and loving it.
“Sara, how long are you in town?” Grissom asked.
“I’m in town for another four days.”
“After shift do you want to meet somewhere?”
“I’m staying at the MGM Grand. Meet me there.”
“Okay I’ll meet you there at 7:30?”
“Wonderful.”
They met five hours later at 7:30 AM. Sara met him in the lobby wearing an orange halter-top, black shorts and her Converse with orange socks. Grissom pictured her out of the outfit and in his arms in bed, but he had to shake the thought as it was turning him on.
“So Sara what would you like to do?”
“We can go up to my room and talk if you like?”
He knew what he really wanted to do with her but he remembered that would be wrong so he tried his best to shake the thought.
“Okay.”
She led him up to her room, which was 506, and she showed him to the green couch in her suite. They both sat down and talked. They talked for hours about the old times at work and what they have been doing since.
“Griss, there’s something I need to get straightened out with you.”
“What’s that?”
“Us.”
“Us?” He swallowed hard.
“Yes. Do you still have feelings for me?”
“I didn’t have feelings for you.” He lied.
“I know you did Griss, so cut the crap.”
“Okay I did. What do you need to know?”
“I need to know if you still have feelings for me?”
“Sara, do we need to get into this?”
“Yes. I only have four days here and I want to know.”
“Sara...”
“Griss?”
“Okay, I do. Do you have feelings for me?”
“Of course I do. I think about you often.”
“I do too. Sara, it’s wrong.”
“Oh Griss, stop! It’s not wrong. Besides, I’m not 18 anymore – I’m 28. I think we could have a relationship.”
“I guess we could. I do love you.”
“I love you too. I always have. What do you say?”
“I say...yes.”
“Oh Griss...”
“Sara, will you make love to me? I have wanted to for 10 years now.”
“I can’t.”
“Why?”
“Because I am a born again Christian. I want to wait until we are married.”
“Do we plan on marrying?”
“I sure hope so! I mean we just admitted our love for each other.”
“True. But Sara, I can’t wait that long. I fantasize about making love to you practically every day. I want to feel you.”
“If you truly love me Griss, you will wait.”
“Do you want to marry now?”
“No.”
“Why?”
“Because that to me signifies that you want me for the sex only, and I know that’s not how you feel.”
“It isn’t. I love you Sara.”
“Then you will wait?”
“Okay.”
“I’m tired. I think I need to get some shut eye.”
“You want me to go already?”
“Who said anything about you leaving?”
“But you just said we can’t have sex…”
“We won’t. We can just sleep together.”
“Yeah we can do that.”
They lay in bed in each other’s arms, fully clothed.
“This is nice, isn’t it Griss?”
“Yes it sure is. You won’t reconsider?”
“Grissom...”
“Sorry Sara. Can you call me by my given name?”
“Sure, you don’t like Griss or Grissom, Gil?”
“I do, but I just wanted to hear you say it once at least.”
They fell asleep and woke up at 5:00.
“Good evening, sleepy head.” Grissom kissed her on the forehead.
“Good evening my love.”
“So what do you want to do?”
“I know I’m hungry.”
“Would you like to come to my house? I can make you something vegetarian.”
“Excellent! Let me get a shower and change first.”
After her shower, she changed into a red satin dress with black flats. She pulled her hair back into a loose ponytail and let wisps of hair fall to the sides of her face.
“Sara you look absolutely beautiful.”
“Thanks.”
“I can change when I get home into something fancy too.”
“You don’t have to Griss. I just wanted to look lovely for you.”
“Sara you could wear a burlap sack and you would look lovely.”
She blushed. “Aw, thanks honey.”
“Anytime. Oh, bring your pajamas.”
“I’m sleeping at your place?”
“Yup. I’ll behave I promise.”
“You better.”
He held the door open for her, they walked to the elevator, and went down to the lobby and out the door into the hot summertime Vegas evening. As they got to Grissom’s Audi, he opened the door for her and she got in.
“Griss, have you thought about going to church?”
“Yes I have but I just never did. Why?”
“I would like you to go with me this Sunday. It’s my last day and I really would love for you to be my date.”
“Sure, I’d love to go. What denomination are you?”
“I go to the Salvation Army.”
“I didn’t realize they were also a church.”
“Yes. They are great. There’s one here so it’s a date!” She was going to pray later that he become saved.
“So Sara, when did you become saved?”
“Eight years ago. I had gotten into booze and prescription drugs for sleep. You know Cliff right? He took me to a Salvation Meeting and I gave my life to Christ that night. I also checked into rehab and detoxed. I’ve been drug and alcohol free now since.”
“That’s wonderful. I’m sorry you had to go through that time alone.”
They got to his blue townhouse and went up the stairs to his front porch. They opened up the white security door to reveal a white washed home.
“Griss, your home is so scientific looking.” Sara scrunched her nose.
“What you don’t approve?”
“Well, it’s just that it’s so...clinical. It needs some color.”
“I like things that are clinical. But for you I can add some color.”
“I would like to do that if you don’t mind?”
“Okay. You are a part of my life now so you have carte blanche.” He leaned over and kissed her passionately.
“Mmmm, that was wonderful.”
“There’s plenty more where that came from my princess.”
They walked into his kitchen and stood by the refrigerator.
“Do you like tuna macaroni and cheese? I make it from scratch.”
“Sure Griss, that sounds yummy.”
He pulled out all the ingredients and started the water boiling.
“So Sara, did you have any relationships?”
“Yes I had two. The first guy’s name was Tony. He was okay, but not marriage material. The other guy was Harold. He was a real creep. How many relationships have you had?”
“I’ve also had two. One was with a woman named Hannah, a fellow Entomologist from UNLV. That lasted about two months and then she found someone new, someone who connected with her. The other one I’m ashamed of. Her name was Lady Heather, and she was, well probably still is, a dominatrix. I saw her on and off for three years.”
“I can’t picture you with someone like that.” “Well, I went through a horrible mid-life crisis. I had a thing about being dominated and spanked.” Grissom blushed. “It’s terrible, I know.”
“Well, as long as you quit, that’s what counts.”
“Yeah. Sara, were those relationships before you were saved?”
“No, why?”
“Okay. I just wondered if you had sex with them.”
“No I didn’t.”
“Have you ever had sex before?”
“No.”
“Wow. So if we get married, I will be your first.”
“Yes. Does that turn you on or something?” Sara grinned at her boyfriend, who was blushing.
“Well, um, yes it does. But I promised you that I would behave.”
“You are a good boy!” Sara joked.
“Very funny Miss Sidle. So is there anything special that you would want me to do to you once we are married?”
“Well, um, this is embarrassing.”
“Go ahead and tell me. We can tell each other anything I hope.”
“Yes we can. Okay, I would want you to tie me up.”
“That’s interesting. I can do that for you.”
A few minutes later, dinner was ready and they sat down at the dining room table and ate their food.
“Oh Griss, this is delicious!”
“Thanks.”
They finished their meals, cleaned their plates, and washed them. They then walked into the living room and sat down together on his midnight blue couch, talking. They went to bed a few minutes later.
