Chapter 10

Monday night came and Sarah went to the hospital.

"I don't see why you can't eat anything. They're operating on your eyes. Not
your stomach." Micky frowned.

"Tell me about it." Sarah groaned.

"Are you comfortable honey?" Nancy asked.

"I'm fine Mom. Davy?"

Davy squeezed her hand. "I'm right here."

"I'm scared. I'm trying to stay positive thoughts. But what if this is all a
waste of time?"

"I'll still be here. I'm not Justin. I won't run away." Davy assured her.

"I know it." Sarah smiled.

"Whatever happens, happens."

"It's in God's hands right?" Sarah smiled again.

"Right." Davy squeezed her hand.

The four stayed for awhile, then it was time to leave. As they headed out Davy
announced he was staying.

"No, you're not. You're coming home to get some rest." Mike replied firmly.

"I'm fine, and I'm staying!" Davy snapped.

"Come on man. You look exhusted. Anyway her parents are here. She'll be fine.
You can see her in the morning." Peter yawned.

"I'm staying here!" Davy yelled.

"Don't make me have to carry you out physically." Micky warned.

"I'm not tired!"

"That's it." Micky said. He went towards Davy, but Davy quickly shot his hands
up.

"I'll go peacefully. But I'm not tired." he said stubbornly.

"Sure you're not." Micky replied.

The four got inside the Monkeemobile. The ride home was quiet.

"We're here." Mike announced with a big yawn.

Peter and Micky got out of the car. Davy however, didn't budge.

"Dave? We're here." Peter whispered.

"He's asleep isn't he?" Mike asked with a chuckle.

A light snore answered that question.

"Grab an arm Mick." Mike laughed.

They each took one of Davy's arm and half dragged/half carried him inside.

"I'm not tired." Micky mocked causing everyone to laugh.

"Put him on one of the downstairs beds. I can't carry him upstairs." Mike
groaned.

"Please, he's not that heavy. You're just weak." Micky laughed.

"Keep teasing me, and I'll show you how weak I am." Mike shot back as he took
off Davy's boots.

"Love is all you need." Peter sang causing Micky to lose it.

"Come on slowpokes! Let's go!" Davy yelled as he put his bowl of cereal in the
sink.

"We hear you!" Micky whined.

The four raced to the Monkeemobile. Davy's mood was quiet and serious. They all
seemed quieter than usual. This could be the day Sarah's life could come back
completely or stay the same. Dark.

The four entered the hospital. Davy immidently went to Sarah's room.

"Hi."

Sarah turned her head towards the door. "Hi."

"This is it huh?"

Sarah nodded. "Whatever happens, happens...I just hope you know."

"I know. Me too." Davy said taking her hand.

He spent most of the morning with Sarah until it was time for her surgery.

"Come on. Let's go to the giftshop." Peter patted Davy's back.

"You guys do that. I wanna get something to eat" Micky groaned.
He was starving.

"I'll go with you." Mike said feeling quite hungry himself.

"Be right back." Micky patted Davy's back.

Davy nodded as he followed Peter.

"You think she'll like that?" Peter asked about the giant white teddy bear.

"I'm not sure. I think she will." Davy said.

"Are you scared?"

"Yeah, for her you know. What if the doctors can't do anything. I just don't
want her to get hurt." Davy sighed.

"Well she won't have to go through it alone. And neither will you. We're here."
Peter squeezed Davy's shoulder.

"I know mate. Thanks." Davy smiled.

"Anytime."

"Hey, what do you think of that giant red bear. Think she'll like that?" Davy
asked.

"Yeah. It's prettier." Peter grinned.

He grabbed the bear and handed it to Davy. Davy grabbed the bear and grinned.
His eyes softened as he looked at Peter.

"I'm really glad you guys are here."

Peter gave Davy's shoulder another gentle squeeze. "Where else would we be?"
