Chapter 7
"Have you caught anything yet? I'm hungry." Peter winced as he held
his roaring stomach.
"I'm trying big Pete." Micky said feeling quite hungry himself. He
then smiled. "Hey Pete! I think I caught something!"
Peter raced towards him. "What'd you catch?"
"A boot." Micky groaned.
"Alright Mick! What'd you say about me?!" Mike demanded as he
marched towards them.
"Nothing!"
"Well Davy said-"
"That little midget! He's dead when I see him again!" Micky barked.
Peter whimpered. "Don't say that!"
"I didn't mean it literally. I just meant he's in big trouble when I
see him again."
"Oh."
They heard someone whistling. "Hey fellas." Davy smiled.
"You little weasel! You're-"
"I have coffee and doughnuts." Davy held up the box.
"My best pal. Gimme one of each." Micky grinned.
"Where have you been all morning?" Peter asked as he sipped his
coffee.
"With Sarah."
"She's great." Peter said with a dimpled grin.
Davy's face broke into a boyish grin. "Yeah, she is."
Mike caught the look in Davy's eyes when he smiled. "Oh merciful
heavens. You're in love."
"For the first time this week." Micky laughed.
"No Micky. I mean he's really in love." Mike noted.
"I am not!" Davy sounded sounding alittle shy. His smile however
didn't fade.
"Yes you are." Mike cried. "Since when are you shy?!"
"Leave me alone!" Davy cried.
"Not until you admit it!" Micky grinned.
"Guys, leave him alone." Peter chuckled.
"Thank you Peter." Davy smiled. He walked away sticking his tongue
out at Mike and Micky.
"Get out of denial man!" Micky yelled.
"I'm not talking to you anymore!"
"Yeah, denial is an ugly thing." Micky laughed.
"Alright Micky. You've teased him enough." Mike said.
"Party pooper." Micky "pouted".
"The radio says we have another storm coming. I say we leave now
before it hits." Mike said.
"What about Sarah?" Davy frowned.
"What about me?" Sarah asked causing everyone to jump.
"We're leaving." Davy sighed.
"Well don't feel bad. So are we. Storm's gonna hit tonight." Sarah
said.
"Where do you live? I live at 1334 Beechwood."
"We're only five minutes away from you. I could come by anytime. Or
you could come by." Sarah smiled.
Davy also grinned.
"They're so cute." Micky said to Mike. They both giggled.
"I'm going to walk her back okay?" Davy asked.
"Sure. But hurry, we need your help packing." Peter said.
"Don't worry." Davy smacked Micky upside the head. "I'll be back."
"Why didn't he slap you too?" Micky asked rubbing his head.
"He knows better." Mike replied.
