Chapter 5

"Have you talked to Davy yet?" Janet asked.

"No. I want to, but-"

Sarah was cut of by someone screaming for help.

"Hang on Peter!"

"I'd know that accent anywhere! That's Davy!" Sarah cried.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes! We have to follow those screams! It sounds like someone's in
trouble!" Sarah cried.

The two raced towards the fishing area. Davy without giving a second
thought jumped into the water. He made a grab for Peter but missed.
Being careful so he didn't go into the current he looked around for
something to grab.

"Davy!" Sarah yelled.

Janet grabbed a hold of Sarah's hand. "Sarah, try to reach for Davy!"

Sarah grabbed Davy's hand and Davy finally was able to grab Peter.
He gave a hard tug, pulling Peter from the rushing water. Coughing
and holding onto Davy, Peter dragged himself out of the water.

"You okay mate?" Davy asked coughing some himself.

Peter nodded. "I'm starting to re-think this whole camping trip
though."

Davy laughed and gave Peter a relieved hug. He then turned to Sarah
and Janet. "Thank you!" he panted.

"You're welcome. I better go back to your parents cabin and let them
know where you are before they freak." Janet said waving goodbye.

"Are you two okay?" Sarah asked.

"Yes. I'm cold though." Davy shivered.

"You?" Peter gasped shivering so hard his teeth chattered.

"Thank you, Sarah!" Davy gasped.

"You're welcome. I'm just glad you guys are okay." Sarah smiled.

"Sarah, this is Peter." Davy said.

"I know. I heard you yell his name. I'm Sarah."

"Hello Sarah. Davy talks about you all the time." Peter grinned.

"Shut up!" Davy whispered.

"Well you do!" Peter cried.

"He does huh?" Sarah asked.

Davy felt his cheeks grow hot.

"He's blushing." Peter teased.

"Do you want me to throw you back in the water?" Davy asked causing
Peter to laugh.

"So, how's the camping trip coming?" Sarah asked.

"Lovely." Davy sighed.

"Well, we better be heading. It was nice to-"

Peter was cut off by two people rushing towards them.

"Sarah? Are you okay?" a man demanded.

Sarah sighed. "Yes, I'm fine."

"Janet told us what you did. That was risky! Are you crazy?" her
mother asked.

"I can be." Sarah replied causing Davy to fight back a laugh.

"You could have been killed!" her father yelled.

"How? I knew what I was doing. Look I'm getting ready to head back
to the cabin. Okay?" Sarah asked.

"Don't be so hard on her! She saved my life!" Peter grinned.

Sarah sighed as she turned towards Davy. "Call me."

"You mean you forgive me?" Davy asked with a smile.

"Yeah, I forgive you." Sarah smiled back.

"Great! I'll see..." Davy let out a groan.

Sarah kissed his cheek. "It's okay. You're trying."

Sometime passed and Mike decided to set up the campfire. Peter told
all about Sarah rescuing him.

"Hey, I was there to you know." Davy laughed.

"Sorry." Peter chuckled.

"What's that on your neck mate?" Davy frowned at Mike.

"Poison oak." Mike groaned.

"This trip is going so great so far." Micky laughed.

"Yep. Sarah and Davy made up." Peter grinned.

"Stop talking about me."`

"But it's fun." Micky grinned.

Davy rolled his eyes as he popped a marshmallow in his mouth.

"Hey, let's tell ghoststories!" Peter grinned.

"NO!"

"Fellas, it's getting late. Let's just go to sleep." Mike yawned.

"You're right. Goodnight fellas." Davy yawned as he climbed into his
sleeping bag.

"Night." Peter rubbed his eyes sleepily.

Soon everything was quiet, except for Davy, and Mike's light snores.
And Micky's not so light snores.

Peter, Davy, and Micky sat up quickly as they heard a loud howl.

"What was that?" Peter whimpered.

"A wolf proubly. Don't worry. It sounded far away." Mike said not
bothering to open his eyes.

"Oh."

All four boys were asleep when-

"HOO! HOO!"

"What was that?" Micky panicked.

"An owl." Mike sighed.

"Oh."

The four were asleep when-

"CRACK!"

"What was that?" Davy sat up.

"Thunder." Mike said.

"Oh." Davy said laying back down. Then quickly sat up. "Thunder?!"

Suddenly it began to pour down rain.

"Let's go in the tent!" Micky cried.

"I don't think we have enough room for all four of us." Peter
frowned.

"Let's try it anyway!"

The four climbed inside the tent and just like Peter predicted there
wasn't room for everyone. The tent collasped.

"Starting right now. If anyone mentions this camping trip, they will
get hit. Agreed?" Mike asked.

"Agreed."

They ended up sleeping in the car.
