Beth became a little uncomfortable as all eyes were fixed on her.
She was sure the Monkees were curious as to why she just ruined a
section of their newspaper. She wasn't quite sure herself why she
had crumpled it.
"Something buggin' ya Beth?" Micky asked.
"No... just something I saw made me angry, I'm not sure why though,"
Beth said, very confused.
"Let me see," Mike said as he picked the crumpled paper off of the
floor and smoothed it's pages. He read the headline aloud: "Multi-
millionaire and first class music instructor, Ivy Gilmore, gives
seminar tonight at Ashland Hall. Topic to be discussed: Training
Your Prodigy". Mike laid the paper down, "Well, that explains it.
The sight of rich people always make me angry too," he told Beth
with a wink.
Later that afternoon, as Micky, Davy, and Peter had gone to the
beach, Beth noticed Peter's keyboard on the bandstand. She stood
there, tenderly touching the ivory keys. She wasn't sure why, but
she had the urge to make music come from the instrument? Did she
even know how to play?
She began to play Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata from her subconcious
memory, though she thought she was making up a new song. The soft
and melancholy tune began to bring tears to her eyes. Her mind
flashed back to a young girl, stuck at the piano bench, while her
friends played merrily at the park just across the street. Had Beth
been paying attention, she would have noticed Mike standing in the
doorway, hanging onto her every note.
