Davy made his way outside, while Peter decided to stay with the girls, just in case Derk and Keith decided to pull another stunt. As soon as Davy hit the double doors to the outside, he took in a deep breath of air. He stared at all the stars in the sky as he wandered the hotel grounds.
"Ok, you all know the plan, right?" Keith whispered from behind a bush.
"Yeah, we grab the midget and `whammo!' Derk said a little loudly, as he pounded his fist into his palm. Keith suddenly slapped a hand over Derk's mouth.
"Shhh! Quiet ya big mouth! Do you want him to hear ya?" Keith said, very annoyed.
"Sorry," Derk whispered.
"Boy, are Cinderugly and that retard ever going to be sorry," Babs whispered with joy.
"Ok Betty, here he comes. Do your stuff," Keith whispered to his girlfriend. Betty came out from behind the bush and pretended to be searching for something.
"Oh phooey!" Betty exclaimed with worry. Davy noticed her right away.
"Hey there, is something the matter?" Davy asked.
"Yes, I lost my purse out here somewhere and I can't find it," Betty said through fake tears. "Will you help me look for it?"
"Sure," Daviy said as he began to look in and around the bushes. Suddenly, Davy disappeared behind one of the bushes and was confronted with Derk, Babs, and Keith.
"Hey, what the devil's going on here?" Davy asked, afraid of the answer. Before Davy could get away, he was grabbed by Keith and approached by Derk.
"Now what do you think is going on here? You waltz in here, humiliate us, and almost got my buddy here kicked out of his senior prom. Do you honestly think we wouldn't make you pay for that?" Derk seethed. Davy gulped hard and unsuccessfully tried to pull out of Keith's grip. Terror washed over him as Derk approached him with a clenched fist. The blow to his face stung and he once again tried to wriggle away from Keith. Blow after blow came, with Davy completely helpless. To make matters worse, Babs and Betty began to kick him in the ribs with their high heeled shoes. Davy didn't think he'd make it out alive, but suddenly Derk, Babs, and Betty stopped their assault.
"Man, I think he's had enough," Keith said as he threw Davy to the ground. Poor Davy laid there like a rag doll.
"You tell anyone, and we'll come back after ya. Remember, we
didn't do this," Derk threatened before leaving the scene.
Meanwhile, back in the prom, Peter was getting worried because Davy had been away for so long. He had just gone to get some air. Suddenly, Peter saw Derk, Keith, Babs, and Betty coming in from the door Davy had exited over twenty minutes ago. He tapped Julie on the shoulder to get her attention.
"I think Davy's in trouble. We need to go look for him," Peter said with deep concern. Without another word or another thought, Julie and Cindi followed Peter outside. Once they reach the garden, they were puzzled by Davy's absence.
"Where he at?" Cindi asked. Suddenly, they all turned to the sound of rustling in the bushes behind them. Julie went back there first and Peter and Cindi followed when she screamed.
"Oh dear God," Julie said as she knelt down beside a badly bruised Davy. He could barely sit up. "What happened to you?" She asked.
"Derk...Keith...don't tell, please...they'll come back," Davy said weakly. Peter and Julie helped Davy up and Cindi walked behind.
"We have to get you to the hospital. You could have broken bones ," Peter said.
"Are you mad? Mike will kill me if I let you drive the car," Davy protested.
"You almost got killed tonight. Besides, you're in no shape to drive," Peter argued.
"Fine, I'll tell him you insisted," Davy finally gave in, not having the strength to argue. Cindi opened the car door for Davy , as Julie and Peter gingerly slid him into the back seat. Peter then opened the passenger side door for Julie and Cindi. Peter then started the ignition and rushed out of the parking lot. Peter was so frantic that he did not see the stop sign he had just cruised through. The next thing he heard was the sound of a horn and Julie's scream, "Peter, look out!"
