"Okay guys, start at the beginning." Said Mike pointing at Davy.
"You first."
"Well, we were walking down the street and Micky said he was hungry and saw a hot-dog cart and I saw a pretty girl and wanted to say hi so Micky went to get the hot-dog and I talked to the girl."
"When are hot-dogs and girls a crime?" Asked Peter.
"Maybe if you let him finish." Said Mike. "Continue."
"I was talking to the girl when somebody grabbed me."
"Who was it?" Peter asked putting his sandwich down.
"It was probably her boyfriend. I was able to get away then when I turned around there was a riot."
"So Davy started it!" Said Peter with a look of shock.
"Hold it shot-gun." Said Mike pointing to Micky. "We haven't heard your side of the story yet."
"I was about to get my hot-dog and I saw a bunch of people shouting and holding up signs. I asked if I could join and they let me hold one of the signs that said 'Unfair!'"
"What was unfair?" Peter sat down. 'This is better then Sherlock Holmes' he thought.
"I don't know." Micky said, shrugging his shoulders. "Then the Police appeared and then some of the people started running so I split out of there."
It shows Mike dressed as Sherlock Holmes and Peter as Dr. Watson.
"What do you think Dr. Tork?" Ask Mike.
"I'm not sure Sherlock Nesmith. This is a tough one." He said and blew bubbles out of his pipe.
Then the TV came on.
"There was a riot earlier today." Said the news man in the TV. "It was started by the hot-dog cart that rolled down the hill and hit a man. The man thought it was done by a young man who was there at that time."
Next it shows the man being interviewed.
"There was this really short guy talking to this girl." He told the TV people. "He was the only guy around so I thought it was him."
"That's why he came after me." Said Davy as he watched.
"But how could that start a riot?" Asked Mike.
"Because that little guy hit me in the eye!" The guy said, pointing to his black eye. "Then the fight started."
They all looked at davy.
"Well, it's solved." Said Peter, grabbing his sandwich.
"No it's not." Said the TV person. "We still don't know how the cart rolled down the hill and hit him. The cart is what started it."
They all look at Micky.
"Now I remember." Said Micky. "I was kicking stones on the road and there was a rock in front of one of the wheels and I kicked it. The rock must have been there to keep the cart from moving."
"That's crazy!" Said Davy.
"I'll say." Agreed the TV person.
"The way I see it, you both started it." Said Mike looking at both of them. "Micky moved the cart and caused it to hit the guy but Davy hit the guy which caused a fight."
"Now what do we do?" Asked Peter, then bit into his sandwich.
"Explain what happened, I guess."
They went to the Police station the next day and told them what happened.
"Yeah right!" Laughed one of the Police officers after hearing their story. "As if that would ever happen."
"But it did happen, man!" Said Micky.
"Just go home like good little boys and stop wasting our time!"
The Monkees left the Police office and looked at eachother.
"What do we do now?" Asked Davy.
"Let's eat." Micky said and they walked over to a hot-dog cart.
"Hey, look." Micky said as he picked up a rock. "Look at this groovy rock."
The cart started to roll down the hill.
"Uh, Micky." Said Peter, trying to get Micky to look.
The cart hit the same guy that was hit by a cart yesterday. The guy sees Davy and they start to fight again and a little later we hear Police sirens.
"Micky!" Shouted Peter, trying to get his attention.
Micky saw Davy run off then he looked at the rock.
"Don't tell me we did it again." Said Micky.
"You guys did it again." Said Mike, while watching the riot.
"I asked you not to tell me that."
The Monkees ran back to the pad.
"You know how you asked 'when are hot-dogs and girls a crime'?" Asked Peter.
"Yeah."
"Now they are."
