Chapter 5

Mike and Peter, who were waiting to ambush Micky and Davy with snowballs, began to wonder where their two friends went.

"They must've gone back inside." Mike said.

"Yeah, not a bad idea." Peter shivered, "The wind is picking up again."

The two Monkees went inside Santa's castle and back up to their room. Davy and Micky were not there. Puzzled, Peter and Mike went downstairs. Maybe they were watching the elves make toys. No luck there either. Becoming concerned, Peter stopped Toc as he was leaving the work floor.

"Toc, have you seen Davy or Micky?"

"No, I haven't. I thought the four of you were together."

"Thanks, Toc." Mike said, then to Peter, "Let's go back outside."

The two walked back out into the cold and started to walk around the castle. Still no sign of their two friends. With the cold and snow out here, it wouldn't take long for them to get frostbite.

"DAVY! MICKY!" Mike yelled.

"MICKY! DAVY!" Peter yelled in another direction.

No answer, just the howling wind. Just then, Peter saw something black sticking out of the white snow. Peter pulled it out of the snow. It was Micky's sunglasses. Peter dug a little more and came up with Davy's hat.

"MIKE!!" Peter yelled, "Look!"

Mike ran over to Peter and saw the objects in his hand.

"Oh no..." Mike breathed, fearing the worst. "MICKY! DAVY!!" He screamed into the wind. Peter did the same thing.

They frantically clawed at the snow, hoping to find their friends, but they couldn't find either one. The wind really began to howl now and it was beginning to snow again.

"Let's go back to the castle!" Mike yelled, "Maybe Santa can help us find them!"

"We can't stop looking!" Peter wailed.

"We'll find them, Pete, but if we're caught in the storm ourselves, how will that help Micky and Davy?" Mike asked. He pulled Peter up and dragged him back to Santa's castle.

~~~~~~~
The blond and brunette girls led Micky and Davy into a cave, just as the storm was starting.
"Looks like we just made it in time." Davy said.
"Yeah, but the others will be worried about us." Micky replied.
"Don't worry, they'll have other things to worry about soon!" A cackling voice yelled at them.
Micky and Davy spun around to see Queen Grizelda and several trolls coming towards them.
"AHHH!" Davy and Micky yelled in fright. They tried to run, but the two girls grabbed them.
"Seize them!" Grizelda yelled to her minions.
The girls were able to hold Micky and Davy just long enough so that the trolls could grab them. The trolls pulled Micky and Davy to the ground, chained them up, and dragged them to the tunnel car a little ways down the cave. The two men struggled, but there were too many trolls to fight off.
"Go easy on the shorter one!" Grizelda called out. Soon, everyone was piled into the car and it began its descent into the earth.
~~~~~~~~

Peter and Mike ran into Santa's study out of breath.

"Santa! You've got to help us!" Mike panted, 'Davy and Micky are lost out in that storm!"

"WHAT?!" Santa yelled, "TIC,TOC!"

"Yes boss?"

"Get a search and rescue party ready NOW!"

~~~~~~~~~
The tunnel car quickly made its way into the earth. Soon they were back at the troll's lair. Micky and Davy were dragged into the Queen's throne room and pushed to the ground. Grizelda took her place on her throne.
"What's going on here?" Micky demanded." Why are we here?"
"You're here because you're going to help us destroy Santa and Christmas!" Said a new voice-a voice the two men knew too well: Wizard Glick.
Glick stepped from behind Grizelda's throne. Micky and Davy looked at him in shock.
"Glick!" Davy yelled, I thought we had gotten rid of you!"
"You thought wrong!" Glick yelled back. He turned to the two girls standing on the side.
"Lisa and Laura, you did well, thank you." Glick smiled. The two girls walked away.
"Now, doesn't the small one remind you of Davius, Grizelda?"
"Yes he does. He's smaller than most topsiders, but larger than most trolls."
"He's not a troll, he's human!" Micky yelled back.
Glick turned to Grizelda.
"Do you have a nasty little dungeon to put him in? I need for him to be far away from Davius so he can't influence him when I work my magic."
"Yes I do." Grizelda smiled evilly. "Take the Curly haired one away!" She called to her guards.
Micky was picked up and dragged away, fighting the whole time.
"What do you want with us Glick?" Davy demanded.
"You are going to be King Davius of the Trolls again, young man. You see, Santa has put you under his spell and you think you're a singer from Great Britain."
"But I am!" Davy exclaimed, "Queen Grizelda, please listen! Glick is your enemy, not us! Not Santa!"
"See how much he is under Santa's spell?" Glick said to the Queen.
"Yes, I do." She answered.
"Could you leave us alone now? I'll need some privacy to do my magic to undo the spell."
"Yes, of course, Great One." She left the throne room, followed by the rest of the trolls.
When they were alone, Davy growled at Glick, "You won't get away with this! I won't help you destroy Santa!"
"I think you will, boy." Glick said, "If you don't, just think of the nasty things the trolls will do to your friend."
Glick walked over to Davy and placed his hand on Davy's forehead. "Now just relax."
~~~~~~~

Micky shivered in the cold, dank cell, he had been thrown into. It was a small cell, not even high enough for him to stand up. It didn't matter anyway, since he had been chained by his wrists to the floor with a short chain. He passed the time trying to pull out the ring holding his shackles, but the ring seemed to be embedded in rock. Suddenly, there was a shadow near the door. It was Glick.

"Aww, look at the curly Monkee trying to break free." Glick sneered.

"Come to gloat, Glick?" Micky spat.

"Yes, of course I did, but I want you to also meet the new ruler of the Trolls." He opened the cell door.

Glick stepped aside to show Davy wearing all black, plus a black cloak with sparkles on it. On his arm was Grizelda.

"Davy?" Micky exclaimed. "What happened to you?"

"My name is not Davy!" Davy yelled, "My name is Davius, King of the Trolls, and soon the whole world will tremble at my feet!"
