Chapter 8

"What?" Micky asked in shock.

"I wanna go to the sixties with you." Vicky explained.

"Um...what about your parents?" Micky asked.

"They won't care."

A car pulled up and a woman rushed out. "Forgot my umbrella." she explained. She rushed back out of the house. "Bye."

"Mom. When are we going to be a family again?" Vicky asked with tears in her eyes.

"Don't start! I'll be home later!" the woman snapped. She quickly drove off.

"See?" Vicky asked. She was crying.

"Gee Vicky. I'm sorry. I didn't know it was that bad for you." Micky said. He felt bad for her. Her mom didn't even seem to care that there were four guys with her daughter. Four guys she had never met before.

"What about Josh?" Micky asked.

"He's spending the week with his friend Kevin. So I'll be all by myself." Vicky sniffed.

"Maybe. I mean I don't even know how we got here. But when we go back, I'll try to take you with us."

"Oh Micky. Thank you!" she cried giving him a big hug.

"Come on. Let's go in."

The two entered the house and seen Davy asleep on the couch. Mike walked over to him and gently placed a cool wet cloth on Davy's forehead.

"He's got a fever doesn't he?" Micky asked.

"A hundred and one." Mike sighed.

He pulled a light blanket over Davy.

"Well I'm beat. I'll see you guys in the morning." Mike yawned.

"Who knows. Maybe we'll see each other in the sixties." Vicky grinned.

Mike gave Micky a sharp look.

"Micky can I talk to you a second. Alone."

"Um sure."

"Well goodnight." Vicky said. Then mouthed to Micky "I'm sorry."

They waved.

"Boy. I thought Peter said Davy didn't snore loud." Micky laughed.

"Aw, cut him some slack. He's so stuffed up and...don't change the subject! You weren't supposed to say anything!" Mike barked.

Davy moaned.

"Shh! Look I'm sorry. But she's so lonely. Her parents don't seem to care about her. I mean they didn't even care that she had four boys over. That's weird."

"I know! But still-"

"Please stop yelling." Davy whimpered.

"Man Davy. I'm sorry. Go back to sleep okay." Mike said softening his tone. He turned to Micky. "You're right. They are weird. Let's talk about it tomorrow."

The next morning everyone was eating breakfast.

Everyone except for Davy who was resting his head on his arm.

"Go back to sleep." Peter said gently shaking his shoulder.

"Davy. I think you'd better stay home from our get together at Pizzahut." Mike said.

"No Mike. I'm going. I need to be there." Davy said.

"I think I figured out why we're still here." Peter grinned.

"You have." Micky said.

"Yeah. We need to get our formerselves to make up. And I know how to make that happen."

"You do? How?" Mike asked.

"Yeah. How?" Davy asked sitting up.

Peter flashed a dimple grin and began to explain his plan.
