Chapter 5

Mike had wandered into a small park. He seen the older version of himself feeding ducks.

"Hi."

His older self looked up and gave a small smile. "Guess I lost it in there huh?"

"What happened between you guys?" young Mike asked.

Older Mike sighed. "I guess it all started when Peter quit the band. He said he was sick of performing and not getting anywhere. So it was just Micky, Davy, and me. But believe it or not we had fans. In fact we had quite a few fans. They didn't buy the new act. They wanted Peter to come back. But he didn't. So I quit. I don't think Davy has ever forgiven me for that. Soon Davy moved back to England. He didn't even say goodbye. He just left. I know we weren't exactly on speaking terms but it would have been nice you know. Then I got married, and divorced. A bunch of years went by and then Peter out of the blue calls me up and wants to do some gigs. You know, like we used too. Only it wasn't like it used to be. Micky wanted to do all new stuff. Davy didn't want to go near a tambourine. All we did was fight so I quit again. Peter moved back to Connecticut. Davy and Micky both moved back to England. Davy went back to his racing. And Micky...I don't remember what he did. Anyway a few weeks ago Peter called us up and wanted to do another reunion. You know play gigs and stuff. This was a bad idea. We were having some fun for awhile but...it feels like the magic's gone." older Mike sighed.

"Maybe you should try it again. I mean your fans still care. You said it yourself. Put your personal problems aside and do it." young Mike pleaded.

"I don't think so. The others won't go for it."

"Talk to them. Do it for us. For the band." young Mike said.

"No, I can't. Sorry." older Mike said. He walked away.

Young Mike sighed. He seen young Micky and young Peter walk towards him.

"We can't find our older selves anywhere." Micky sighed.

"I found mine. Like I said there's alot of bitterness between us. This is going to take a lot of work."

"Where's Davy?" Peter asked.

"Which one?" Micky asked sounding confused.

"The one that's close to our age." Peter explained.

"I have no idea. We better go find him." Mike sighed.

They searched for quite awhile. It had become dark so Mike and the others decided to take a short break.

Man. Where is he? Mike thought to himself.

"We can't find him anywhere." Micky said sounding worried.

Peter gasped. "What if he's back in 1967?"

"No, Peter. I don't think he's there. He's here. He's just...lost." Mike explained.

Man, Davy. Where are you? Mike thought.

Young Davy meanwhile was walking the streets. He still had no clue where he was. If he had been back in 1967 he wouldn't have been so lost. But this was 2005. Everything was so much bigger. He passed a street corner.

"Hey cutie. You looking for a date?" a woman asked.

Davy began to walk faster. He seen a cab. "Taxi!" he yelled.

He got in. "Man. It's getting creepy out there." Davy shivered.

"It's not much better in here either kid." the toothless cab driver said.

Davy jumped out of the cab and took off running again. He passed a store with a tv near a window. He seen a lady eat a live cricket.

"Come on Sarah!" the host of Fear Factor yelled.

Gross. You couldn't pay me enough to do that! Davy thought to himself. He began walking some more. He was growing tired and was also very scared.

I wish Mike were here. he thought.
