Chapter 4

The eight went back to the store that young Mike and Davy went to the first day they arrived in the year 2005.

"When it says type in your password you have to make up an actual word." older Mike explained.

"Oh."

"So when do I lose my fro?" young Micky asked.

"Would you let it go. I have gray hair." young Davy laughed.

"Oh boo-hoo. You have a head full of gray hair. I don't!" young Micky whined.

"Hey you guys? Are you getting hungry?" older Peter asked.

"Yeah. Let's go to pizza hut." young Micky grinned.

The eight walked to a pizza hut. Young Davy seen a pretty girl walk by. He was about to give her a friendly smile when the older version of himself slapped him upside the head.

"Ow! Why'd you do that for?!" young Davy groaned.

"To save you from doing something embarassing. That's our daughter." older Davy warned.

"Oh man." young Davy groaned.

Older Davy laughed and patted his back. "It's okay."

"This is getting really weird." young Micky shivered.

"Hey Dad...whoa! He looks just like you did when you young. I'm Jessica." the girl held her hand out.

"Um...Thomas." Davy said nervously. He shook her hand.

"Wow! All these guys look like you did when you were young!" she gasped.

"Jessica, love. I think I just seen Brad Pitt walk by." older Davy said.

"Bye!" Jessica waved.

"Thanks." young Davy said with a relieved sigh.

"Micky!" they heard a girl call.

Both Mickys turned around.

"Keep dreaming." older Peter laughed at older Micky.

Young Micky walked outside with Vicky.

"Why'd you leave? I mean you didn't even say goodbye." Vicky said sounding hurt.

"Sorry, I...I uh had to get Davy and Mike away from that game." Micky laughed.

Vicky smiled. "I had a lot of fun last night."

"Me too."

Vicky again smiled and she gave Micky a kiss. Micky pulled away. "I'm sorry. I can't do this."

"I'm sorry. I thought you liked me." Vicky said sounding hurt.

"I do. It's just...I'm sorry. I gotta go." Micky sighed.

He re-entered the pizza hut building. He could hear the older version of himself and his friends arguing. He glanced at young Davy who gave him a helpless look.

"It wasn't my fault! It was Davy's!" older Mike yelled.

"Mine?!"

"Yeah, you're the one who moved back to England without saying goodbye!" older Mike yelled.

"Well excuse me Mike! I was going there to visit my sisters-"

"And you fell in love." Mike cut him off bitterly.

"You didn't say goodbye man. That hurt." older Peter said still sounding hurt.

"You just left. You didn't even care enough about the band to let us know we needed a placement. You didn't care about us, or the fans or our music." older Mike snapped.

"That's not true! I cared very much." older Davy argued.

"You had a funny way of showing it." argued older Peter.

"At least I don't join reunion tours only to back out of them the last minute! You talk about me not caring about our fans." older Davy said shooting older Mike a glare.

"Guys, please stop." young Peter begged.

"Oh. And thank you so much for coming to my wedding Micky." Older Davy said. His voice thick with sarcastism.

"Which one?" older Micky shot back.

"You've been divorced twice too buddy." older Davy snapped.

"And Mike! You're just mad because you weren't in control anymore." older Peter yelled.

"What are you saying Pete? That I'm a controlfreak?"

"If the boot fits."

"You know what. This reunion was a bad idea. And you know something. I quit!" older Davy yelled.

Young Davy watched helplessly as the older version of himself stormed off.

"I quit too!" older Peter yelled.

"Me too." older Micky snapped.

"Fine by me. We won't do any more gigs. Goodbye." older Mike snapped.

Soon it was just the young version of the Monkees. All four were in shock.

"What happened to us?" Peter asked.

"We used to be best friends. I figured we'd always be." Davy said sounding sad and confused.

"There's alot of bitterness between us that's for sure." Mike noted.

"You know. I thought seeing the future would be cool. Now that I've seen it. I'm not sure I like it." Micky sighed.

"What are we going to do?" Davy asked.

"I don't know Davy. I really don't know." Mike sighed softly.

"We can't let it end like this! We have to do something." Peter cried.

Micky smiled. "I have an idea."

"What?" Davy asked.

"We need to have a talk with our olderselves. Find out what happened between us and fix it."

"That's a good idea." Davy smiled.

"Way to go Micky." Peter grinned.

"Nice job shot-gun."

"Thank you! Thank you!" Micky waved.

"Let's go." Mike said.

The four split up. About twenty minutes had passed and Davy couldn't find his older twin anywhere.

This is crazy. he thought. I'm his younger self and I can't find him anywhere.

He entered a bar. "Excuse me. I'm looking for-"

"You're not suppose to be here!" a man barked.

"Oh. I'm sorry. I know I look under aged. Here's my i.d." Davy handed him his card.

"You're not suppose to be here! You're going to ruin everything!" the man said charging towards Davy. Not knowing what else to do Davy ran out of the bar. The man was behind him. Davy ran harder. He soon lost the man.

"What was that about?" Davy asked himself. He looked around and realized he had no idea where he was.
