"Yeah, and that boy has blue fingernail polish. And they look at us like we dress weird." Micky laughed."
"Man, I never knew stores could be this big." Peter sighed.
"Shh. Listen."
They heard Eminem rapping on the radio.
"Man. They sure are bleeping alot of words out." Micky said.
"Yeah, I know. Remember when you couldn't hear those words on tv or radio. Times sure have changed." Peter again sighed.
"Ooh. Look! Usher has a new cd out!" they heard a girl gasp.
"What the heck is a cd?" Micky asked.
Peter shrugged. Then gasped. "Micky! That woman is carrying her phone. Since when can you bring a phone into a building? And where's the cord?"
"Let's get out of here." Micky shivered.
They passed two kids wearing all black.
"Is it halloween?" Peter asked.
"Times have changed." Micky noted again.
"Mike! My head hurts." Davy whimpered.
"So does mine. And that lady said slushes are fun to drink. Are you having fun?"
"No. What do you want to do now?"
"Find Micky and Peter." Mike replied rubbing his forehead.
"Hey Mister. Would you like to buy a candybar?" a little girl asked.
"Sure. How much?" Davy asked.
"A dollar."
"A dollar?!" Davy exclaimed. "I thought they were twenty cents."
"Maybe they were back in the sixties." the little scoffed.
Mike and Davy looked at each other. Things were very different for them.
They gave the little girl two dollars and headed over to Peter and Micky.
"Hey Peter. Hey Micky." Mike said.
"Mates! We seen a tv almost as big as me." Davy said.
"Yeah. And you know how we only get twelve channels back at the pad. Well now you can get over two hundred channels." Mike grinned.
"Two hundred?!" Micky exclaimed.
Micky glanced over to a his left and seen a girl flipping through a book.
"Hey guys. I'll uh meet you at a resturant in a few minutes. I'm going over by that bookstore."
"Okay. See ya." Davy waved.
"Which resturant?" Peter asked.
"Uh...Arby's."
The other three left. Micky walked over towards the girl.
"Hi." he said.
"Hello." the girl said giving him a polite smile.
"My name's Micky."
The girl laughed. Micky felt hurt.
"Oh I'm sorry. I'm not laughing at your name. It's just...my name is Vicky."
Micky laughed. "Micky and Vicky."
The two began to talk and soon hit it off. Micky liked this girl. Alot.
"What am I doing? I can't date her." Micky thought.
Soon they ran into Mike, Peter, and Davy. Micky introduced them to Vicky.
"They have alot of good food here but I'm not hungry just yet." Peter said.
"Why don't you guys come to my house? You can meet my little brother." Vicky grinned.
"Will it be okay with your parents?" Davy asked.
"They're not home. Besides they won't care. Come on." Vicky grinned.
The four looked at each other, then followed.
They entered a nice looking house. They seen a boy with blond hair laying on the floor playing a video game.
"Josh. Come here." Vicky said.
The boy hit his pause button. After chatting a bit the boy went back to his game. Davy followed.
"What's that?"
"It's my play statiion. Wanna play?" Josh asked with a grin.
"Sure." Davy replied with a smile. "Sounds interesting."
Josh handed Davy a controller.
"Oh no. I hope Davy doesn't become addicted to that thing like Josh has." Vicky laughed.
"Anyone else wanna play?" Josh asked.
"No thank you." Mike laughed.
"Nope." Peter said shaking his head. Micky also said no.
About a half hour went by and Micky suggested they pick up some burgers.
"That sounds groovy." Peter grinned.
"What?" Vicky asked confused.
"Um...great." Peter yelped.
"Come on Davy." Mike said.
"I'll stay here." Davy said not taking his eyes over the screen.
"Josh. Wanna come?" Vicky asked.
"Nope. I'll stay here with Davy." Josh said also not taking his eyes off the screen.
"Okay. We'll be back." Mike said.
"Bye Dave." Peter said.
Davy ingored him. "What do I do now?"
"Jump over the bridge." Josh explained.
"Did you hear me?" Peter asked.
"Forget it Pete. He's gone." Micky laughed.
"No he's not. He's sitting right over there." Peter said sounding confused.
Micky dragged Peter outside.
"I hate to say it. But Davy's addicted to that thing too." Vicky laughed.
"Great. First girls. Now a play station." Mike rolled his eyes.
"What kind of fries are these?" Peter asked.
"Curly. Don't you guys know what curly fries are?" Vicky asked.
"No."
"You guys act like your from another world." Vicky laughed.
The three boys laughed nervously.
"Where are you guys staying?" Vicky asked.
"Um...well..."
"Cause you guys can stay with us."
"What about your parents?" Peter asked.
"They're never home. They're either working or going to parties. It's a drag sometimes."
"Well I mean if you want us to...we'll stay." Micky said.
Vicky grinned. "Great! We have plenty of room. We have two guest rooms with two beds in each room. You guys don't mind sharing a room do you?"
"No. Peter and I will take one. You and Davy get the other." Micky grinned.
"Does Davy snore as bad as Micky?" Mike asked.
"Does anybody?" Peter joked.
"I do not snore that loud!" Micky yelled.
"How would you know? You're asleep." Mike laughed."Sounds fine to me,
Pete."
They entered Vicky and Josh's house. Davy and Josh were playing the
playstation. They hadn't moved.
"Food's here! Come and get it!" Mike yelled.
Josh and Davy didn't move.
"Davy? Food's here." Micky said.
"Not hungry. Now what do I do?" Davy asked. Josh began explaining what to do.
"Davy. Get over here and eat." Mike said firmly.
"In a minute." Davy replied.
"Davy." Mike said sounding firmer.
"Please don't hit me." Davy said with a fake whimper.
"We're never going to be able to get them away from that thing." Vicky laughed.
"We could turn it off." Peter suggested.
"Don't!" both boys cried.
"He's worse than you are at television with that thing." Mike told Micky. Micky grinned.
"Come on Josh." Vicky said. Josh sighed.
"That game will still be there when you get done eating." Vicky laughed. Davy kept on playing.
"David. Get over here and eat." Peter snapped.
Davy groaned and grabbed his food. Then walked back to the game and
started playing again. He ate and played at the same time.
A few hours passed and everyone but Davy grew tired. He had sat on
the floor and played that game all day. His head was pounding but he
couldn't stop playing. He was addicted. Mike looked at the clock
that was in the room he and Davy were sharing.
"Almost two a.m. Oh for crying out loud!" Mike grumbled.
He walked in the living room. Davy was laying on his stomach looking like he was struggling to stay awake.
"GO TO BED!" Mike exclaimed.
Davy jumped. "Don't do that!"
"Do you know what time it is?! You've been playing that thing for all day! Go to bed!"
"Where?" Davy asked.
"We're sharing a guest room upstairs. So that means you sneaking back down here is out of the question." Mike stated firmly.
No one could ever sneak past Mike.
"Mike, we could wake up in the sixties tomorrow. I've never played games like this. I'm having alot of fun. Except for the pounding headache."
"Davy, you barely look like you're awake. Go to bed. Come on." Mike said.
"Play one quick game with me."
"No." Mike said.
"Come on. Please. Just one quick game." Davy begged.
"Okay. One game." Mike sighed.
Davy handed him a controller. Soon Mike also became addicted. He noticed Davy's guy had quit moving. He glanced over and seen Davy was asleep. He gently grabbed Davy's controller.
"Wonder if I could play two players." he thought.
