Chapter 19

Warning: This chapter has Jesus Christ, Angels and the Devil in it, if you don't dig that stuff then don't read it.

"Did you hear that?!" David asked.

They both listened and heard a scream.

"George!" They both shouted and they ran back to where they had last seen Peter and George.

They saw Peter getting up and holding his head and they ran to him.

"What happened?!" Michael asked.

"A giant Bosherling Snake attacked us." Peter told them. "I tried to fight it but...Where's George?"

They both searched the forest while calling his name, hoping that the Snake didn't get him.

"Down here!" David called out and all of them ran down the hillside and found George on the ground. They ran to him and saw where the Snake had bit his leg.

"What are we going to do?!" David asked, knowing that this type of Snake is very poisonous.

"At least he's still breathing." Michael said, watching George breathe slow breaths.

Peter tore off his sleeve and tightly wrapped George's leg to slow down the poison and they prayed for an idea on how to save their friend.

"Hang in there good buddy." Michael told him. "Hang in there."

'Is this it?' George thought to himself. 'Am I going to die here so far away from home?'

When he realized that he may die at any moment he knew that it was time to pray and accept God. After his prayer then he saw a bright light and an Angel appeared before him.

"Who are you?" George asked.

"I am an Angel of death." The Angel answered.

George felt his soul leave his body and he followed the Angel into the light and David, Peter and Michael saw George breathe his last breath.

George was in a place filled with light and in front of him was an Angel with a big book. Close by was the ugliest and most horrifying person he had ever seen. He had red and black skin, sharp teeth, claws, spikes on his back and a long tail. He already knew who it was, it was the Devil and he wanted George's soul.

George looked around and saw other people there too and he guessed that they were people who had just died. A young couple walked over to the Angel and told the Angel their names then the Angel looked through the book.

"Henry," The Angel said. "You're name is in 'The Lamb's Book Of Life'." Then the Angel turned to the young lady. "Elizabeth, I'm afraid that your name isn't here."

The Devil let out a laugh that sent chills down George's spin and a group of Demons grabbed the poor girl and dragged her away as she screamed. A hole appeared in the ground and fire came up from it and they threw the girl into it.

The Demons laughed then they also jumped in. George gulped then he walked over to the Angel.

"Um, hi." George said then he cleared his throat. "I'm uh, I'm George."

The Angel looked through 'The Lamb's Book Of Life' and George looked at the Devil who was rubbing his hands together gleefully. George gulped again then the Angel looked at George.

"George," The Angel said. "You're name is in 'The Lamb's Book Of Life'."

"NO!!" The Devil shouted. "He belongs to me!!"

"You heard him," George said. "My name's in the book. So there!" Then George stuck his tongue out at the very angry Devil and the Devil disappeared in a puff of smoke.

George breathed a sigh of relief then someone wearing white walked toward him. George already knew who it was and his knees started to buckle. It was Jesus Christ.

"So," George said, trying to break the silence. "This means I'm dead, huh?"

Jesus nodded then he walked over to George and placed a hand on his shoulder. "But my Father has decided that this isn't your time yet."

"What do you mean?" George asked.

"He has a plan for you George. Just remember, my Father will always be with you."

Then George felt like he was being pulled. The bright room disappeared and everything went black and he could feel his soul going back into his body.

"George, please wake up!!" David shouted.

"It's too late David." Michael said. "He's gone."

"He can't die!" David said. "He was thinking about being a Christian!"

"Wait!" Peter shouted. "He's breathing!"

They all looked at their limp friend and they saw that he was breathing and they all breathed a sigh of relief.

"We still need to do something or he really will die." Michael told them.

"I know!" Peter said. "Michael, you grab his arms and I'll grab his legs."

They picked him up and they walked further into the forest.

----

"Where are we going?" David asked after they had been walking for almost half an hour.

"We're going to a friend of mine." Peter answered. "Beba is able to cure anything."

"Beba?" Both Michael and David asked at once.

"People called her a Witch and chased her out of the Kingdom and now she lives somewhere around here. There it is!"

They saw a small house that was built into the hillside and Peter placed George's legs on the ground and knocked at the door.

"Hello!" Peter called out.

"Who is it?!" A voice from behind the door asked.

"It's me, Peter."

The door opened and an old woman with gray hair and wearing a torn dress and shawl opened the door and gave him a toothless grin.

"Tie me up and burn me at the stake if it ain't ol' book worm!" Then she hugged Peter and looked at George. "Who's he? He looks terrible."

"He's been bitten by a Bosherling Snake." David told her.

"Then what are you doin' chattin' the night away?" She told them. "Bring that poor boy inside."

Michael and Peter carried George into the small house and placed him on a table that was in the middle of the room. Beba looked at George, placed her ear onto his chest, placed her hand on his forehead and opened his eyes and looked at them.

"Hmm." She said as she held up George's arm. "Your friend is not well." Then she let go of his arm and it hit the table with a loud thunk.

"We know that." Michael said. "We need you to help him."

"Alright, alright. There's no hurry." She said then she walked over to another table with lots of jars and different plants sitting on it. "Let's see, no, no, no, ha! Found it!"

She took the different plants she needed and started to mash them together in a bowl as she talked. "This is my place you know. Built it with my own two hands I did. It took many years but I did it."

She continued talking about her home and different people she cured as she mashed the plants then rubbed the the mashed plants on George's leg where the Snake bit him.

"Lucky he didn't get any bones broken." She said. "Those Snakes can brake your spine like a twig."

"But where did that Snake come from?" David asked. "Bosherlings are very rare and no one has seen any in years."

"Just because no ones seen 'em doesn't mean that they're not there." She said then she put water in the bowl that still had some mashed plants in it and she had George drink it.

George quickly opened his eyes and spit it out. "What are you trying to do?! Poison me?!"

"George!" All his friends cried out and they ran to their friend and hugged him.

"Give him breathing room!" Beba said as she pushed the happy young men away from their friend. "He's lucky to be alive and you're all tryin' to squeeze him to death!" Then she turned to face George. "It's a bloody miracle that you're alive youngster, next time remember not to pick fights with giant Snakes."

"But I..." George was cut off by Beba hitting his leg with her walking stick.

"OW! What was that for?!"

"Good, you can still feel pain in that leg." She said. "A lot of the time people can't feel the part of the body that was bitten."

"But that's because no one has ever survived a Bosherling Snake bite." Peter said.

"Oh, well that explains it." Then she hit George's leg again.

"OW! Why did you hit me again?!"

"You talk too much."
