Chapter 17

Just So You Know: The part with Micky aka George grabbing his stomach, I got that from an article.

"He loves to meet fellow musicians, especially ones that he digs like the Beatles and Spencer Davis and to talk about music and instruments. Suddenly, in mid-sentence, he will break the conversation because a musical phrase has occurred to him and he wants to work it out in his mind. This can be a little disconcerting as he tends to clutch himself in the stomach as if he's ill and his face assumes a look of abject pain, but in fact, he is just concentrating completely to try and get the riff just right before he forgets it."

----

Peter and George rode their Horses through the first part of the Kingdom, rode past the second part of the Kingdom and rode into the middle of the third part of the Kingdom. George looked at all the people who were wearing torn and dirty clothes, whose hair was in tangles and who had hungry faces.

"Where are we?" George asked, wanting to leave this place.

"You've lived in the first part of the Kingdom all your life." Peter told him. "You've always had plenty of food, clothes and many other things you take for granted."

"But why are we here?"

"These People, like you, don't believe in God. There's no Church here so they don't know who He is."

"So?"

"Look at them again."

George hesitated then looked again. Many of the people looked angry, Mothers pulled their Children into their small homes when they saw Peter and George coming and George could hear People fighting in some of the homes as they rode past.

"This is what happens to People who don't know what to believe in." Peter told him. "People don't want to blame themselves when something goes wrong so they blame everyone and everything else and they live in fear."

Peter got off of his Horse then George did the same and Peter walked to an abandoned house. They walked inside and a black Mother Cat with her four Kittens sat in the corner. George, being an Animal lover, walked over to them and started to pet them.

"What are these guys doing here?" George asked. "Doesn't anyone own them?"

Peter shook his head. "If anyone finds them then they will kill them."

"What?!" George turned to face Peter as he held one of the Kittens. "They didn't do anything wrong!"

"They believe that black Cats are bad luck. They don't believe in God so they believe in things like 'luck', 'bad luck' and 'curses'. They don't know who to turn to when God is always there for them."

George grabbed his stomach and looked like he was in pain, which is what he always did when he was deep in thought. Peter started to leave then turned to George. "I want to show you something else as well."

George got up and walked outside with Peter and they walked up a hill. When they got to the top they could see all of the Kingdom. George stared at the beautiful scenery then they both sat down.

"Tell me," Peter said as he pointed at the castle. "Where did that castle come from?"

"Somebody built it." George answered.

"Ah, so it has a builder?"

"Right, of course it does."

"Did somebody build all of those houses?"

"Yeah."

"Did somebody build all of the furniture and other things that are in the houses?"

"Of course, all houses need builders."

"Exactly." Then Peter picked a flower and showed it to George. "Who do you think created this flower?"

"I don't know...The ground?"

"But who created the ground?"

"Nobody I guess."

"But all those houses needed a builder."

"Of course they did. If they didn't have builders they wouldn't be there."

"Then doesn't it make sense that somebody created the flowers, the rivers and us? Every creation has a creator, every plan has a planner George, and we have a God."

Then Peter stood up and started to head toward the Horses then he turned to face George. "Sometime when you're outside, looking at the scenery, think about where all this came from." Then Peter walked to his Horse and rode off.

----

George sat at home and thought about what Peter said. Could there be some truth to what Peter said? One of the black Kittens rubbed against his leg. Before Micky had come home he put all of the Cats in his sack and brought them home with him. Micky petted the Kitten then thought about it some more and he once again grabbed at his stomach. At first George laughed off the thought of it being true but the more he thought about it the more he wanted to think about it.

Finally George decided to get some fresh air. He stepped outside and petted his Horse then he looked at the beautiful sunset. Could somebody have made that sunset? Then he thought about the grass and the soil and the trees and the lake where the fireflies danced in the night. Were they all created? Then George remembered why he stopped believing in God and shook the thought out of his head. No, if there was a God then why did He let his father die? And in a Church of all places!

He remembered how hurt he was when his Mother told him that his Father was dead. His Father had a hand-written copy of the Bible and George, who was angry with grief, took it outside and burned it. Afterwards George had started getting into trouble, he hung out with the wrong people and was even put in prison for a short time.

George tried to get rid of the memories but they wouldn't go away so he took his Horse, rode to where the Knights would train and he practiced using his sword. Keeping himself busy helped to keep the memories away, most of the time. After hours of swinging the sword George stabbed the ground with it and leaned against it, exhausted. Then he fell to his knees and shouted at the sky.

"Why?! Why did you have to kill my father?! He didn't do anything wrong!!"

Then he just sat there, thinking about all that Peter told him but shortly after the memories he tried to forget came back and he grabbed his sword again and started to swing it, trying to get rid of those old memories.
