Michael, David and George waited for Peter in the area where all knights did their training. Even though George wasn't a knight Don decided to let him train with them. They finally saw Peter coming and they all saw the look on his face.
"What's wrong Peter?" David asked. "You told us you were going to ask Jody to marry you."
"I did tell her but her Uncle, Joshua Babbit, said that she's too young to get married."
"You mean-" George started and Peter nodded.
"I'm sorry." Michael said. "I know how much you two love each other."
"She's taking this worse then me." Peter told them then Valerie walked over to them and she was holding a sword.
"You may have been knighted," She said. "But it doesn't mean that you are worthy enough to be one. Being a knight is more then killing Dragons and saving Princesses, it's about bravery and honor."
Then Valerie walked over to some weapons that lay on the ground in the grass and she turned to face the four musicians. "Choose your weapon."
They walked over to the weapons that lay on the ground. None of them were too familiar with weapons and it took them awhile to choose. Finally David chose a belt that had a row of daggers pierced through it. Michael chose the bow and arrow and Peter chose a staff. George chose the only weapon that was left that looked half way interesting, two small swords. George picked them up then started to swing them like the other knights he had seen do.
"OW!"
He dropped the swords and held his arm.
"Never try to be an expert when you're a beginner." Valerie told him and she picked up the two swords and swung them expertly then handed them back to George.
----
They trained day and night, using their new weapons and learning how to use them. They were all quick learners and in almost a year they used their weapons almost expertly. Besides the daggers David also used the mace and chain but besides that all of them always used the same weapons. Don and Valerie watched them as they practiced.
"It's been almost a year," Don said. "And that George still isn't a knight yet!"
"He needs to prove himself first." Valerie told him. "I know they need to be ready to fight by the end of next year but there has never been a need for him to prove himself."
Then Don got an idea and started to walk away. "Then we'll make it happen."
----
"What do you think this is about?" David asked Mike and Peter.
They were in the same place that knights come to train to fight against animals like Dragons, Wild Boars and Bosherling. They would train by fighting smaller animals.
"I don't like this." Peter said then he looked around. "Do you guys know where George is?"
"This isn't good." Michael said aloud.
"What isn't?" David asked.
"I saw George before we came here. He said that Valerie gave him a message that he needed to do something here and that he's never been here before."
"So?"
"Don't you get it? He doesn't know that this is where knights kill animals to prove themselves. They're going to make George kill an animal!"
"Don't they know that George is dead set against killing anything?!" Peter raised his voice.
"I guess they think this will help him prove himself."
They all looked from their seats at the fence that went into a circle and gave it a coliseum look. They saw Valerie and George talking together then George went over the fence and into the ring. All the people cheered and George wondered what was going on.
"Release the Beast!" Don called out.
A bunch of men carrying a huge cage placed the cage in the ring and carefully opened the cage door and a Bosherling came out. This Bosherling was old and had a hump on his back. He had many scratches, his grayish white fur was torn and he he was blind in his right eye. George turned to Don and shouted at him.
"We had a deal! You said we didn't have to kill!"
"I agreed that you wouldn't kill people." He told him. "I never said anything about animals."
"I am not going to kill that Bosherling!" George shouted as he threw his swords away and started to walk away.
"WATCH OUT!!" His friends called out.
George turned and the Bosherling jumped on him. All the people watching cheered as George tried to pull away and his friends all stood up and watched in horror. Michael saw that one of George's swords was right next to him.
"GRAB THE SWORD!!!!" Michael shouted but George couldn't hear him because of all the people shouting.
Michael pushed through the crowd, ran into the ring and grabbed George's sword.
"Michael, don't!!" George shouted.
Michael slashed at the Bosherling and the animal pulled away from George. Michael ran over to George who had just sat up.
"You okay?" Michael asked.
"Michael!" George shouted and the Bosherling then jumped onto Michael.
Michael tried to grab the sword but it was too far away.
"Grab the sword!" Michael shouted. "Kill it!!"
"I-I can't!" George said then the Bosherling grabbed onto Michael's arm with it's powerful jaws and Michael screamed out in pain.
George grabbed the sword and stood there, trying to decide what to do then he dropped it. "I can't!"
Don placed his chin in his hand then turned to Valerie. "It's obvious he's not going to do it. Call the creature off."
Soon a bunch of men roped the Bosherling and put it back into it's cage. George walked over to Micheal.
"Michael," He began. "I-."
"Why didn't you kill it?!" He shouted.
"I'm not going to harm a living thing."
"Even if it kills someone!"
Peter and David ran over to them and looked at Micheal's arm and David left to find someone who could bandage him.
"Well I'm so sorry if I can't kill animals like you can!" George said and mockingly bowed to him.
"Please don't be like that." Peter told them. "Let's-"
"No!" Michael shouted. "This is unacceptable! You have to learn that animals aren't humans!"
"Is that what you Christians believe?!" George shouted.
"You're a Christian too, remember?!"
"I faked it!!" Then George quickly covered his mouth and Michael and Peter stared at him.
"It was all a lie?" Peter asked.
"I had to do it." George said, calming down. "If I didn't I couldn't be a knight and, well,"
Peter grabbed George's arm and started to pull him toward two Horses.
"Get on." Peter told him.
"Where are we going?" George asked as he mounted onto a white and gray Horse.
"You'll see." Peter said as he mounted a brown Horse then they rode off.
