David sat in the stable with the horses; he had just had a fight with his Father. He had never had a fight with him before, why couldn't he be a Knight?
David got up and saddled his horse.
"Where are you going?"
It was his three Sisters, Hazel, Beryl and Lynda.
"I'm leaving for awhile." He answered.
"You can't!" Said Hazel. "You have to stay!"
"Yeah, Father didn't mean it." Said Beryl. "He'll change his mind."
"I'm not leaving because we had a fight," Said David. "I'm leaving because I want to be something besides a stable boy."
His sisters understood and gave him a big hug.
"Come back soon, we'll miss you."
Then David got onto his horse and rode off.
----
"It's good to be out of that little dungeon." Said George as he stretched.
"Thanks for inviting me to your wedding."
"And thank you for not eating everything in sight." Said Michael.
"I had to, you're wife threatened me." Said George with a smile.
Phyllis held her bow and arrows. "I still have my eye on you." She said with a chuckle.
"It's almost dark." Said George as he jumped to his feet with a giant grin.
"What are you so happy about?" Asked Michael, he had never seen him so happy.
"The fireflies!" He ran off toward a meadow.
----
"Samantha? Where are you?" Called out George as he walked toward a pond.
"Maybe she couldn't make it." He sat against the Willow tree and waited for the fireflies, then two hands covered his eyes.
"Guess who."
"Robin Hood?" George knew who it was; he turned and gave her a big hug.
"I missed you, Samantha." He said then he noticed that she was crying. "What's the matter?"
"I'm sorry." She said as she tried to wipe the tears away.
"It wasn't your fault, it's that stupid law." His smile was gone.
"Is there anything we can do about it?" She asked.
"We'll just continue doing what we're doing." He answered. He grabbed her hand and they walked toward the pond.
"Now," Said George with a grin. "It's time to play." Then he pushed her into the pond, then they spent the rest of the night splashing each other and watching the fireflies.
