"Play another one Peter." Said a young girl named Jody Rabb as Peter Tork, a boy with blondish brown hair and brown eyes, played the lute.
"Peter," Called out one of the Knights. "It's your turn to watch the prisoners."
Peter's Father was now a retired Knight and Peter was now training to be one, again. This is his second time in Knight training.
"I'll be back soon Jody." Peter said and he kissed her hand. Then Peter, with his lute in hand, went to the dungeons to watch the prisoners.
----
"How long have we been in here?" Asked George, who was beyond bored.
"Five days." Said Michael, who was also bored.
"I'm gonna die of boredom!" Said George.
"I don't think it's possible to die of boredom."
"He did." George pointed to a skeleton who was sitting next to them.
"Wonder what he was in for." Said Michael. "Hi Mr. Skeleton," Michael said.
"Nice too meet you. How did you get down here?"
The skeleton's jaw fell off.
"Really?" George said, continuing the conversation.
"Somebody's coming." Said Michael and Peter entered the dungeon.
"What are you guys doing?" Asked Peter.
"We're just chatting with our buddy here." Said Michael and the skeletons' head fell off.
"Want to join us?" Asked George. "We can all sing Avellano songs and talk about old times."
"That might not be a bad idea." Said Peter and he started to play his lute. Then George started to sing.
"I've got my dark dungeon blues, what am I gonna do? I can't go outside, I can't go home, I'm stuck in this lousy cell talking to skeletons whose jaws and heads fall off. Dark dungeon blues."
Peter and Michael joined in and soon everybody in the dungeon was singing 'Dark Dungeon Blues'.
"What's going on down there?" Asked one of the knights. They went into the dungeon and found everybody singing and dancing.
"What are all of you doing?!" Shouted the knight.
"We're killing our boredom." Said George and they all continued singing.
"What are we going to do?" The second knight asked.
"We'll go to the King." The first one answered.
----
In the royal chamber the Knights told the King everything that happened.
"Singing and dancing?" Asked the King. This had never happened before.
"That's right." Said the first knight. "Singing and dancing. The one named George said they were killing their boredom."
The King thought about this, then one of the King's advisers, Bert Schneider, whispered something to the King, then the King said
"Bring the ones that started it to me."
The Knights bowed and left the royal chamber.
----
Six Knights brought Michael, Peter and George into the royal chamber. The Knights expected that the King was going to torture them or have them executed.
"Let these men go." Said the King. His Knights just stared at him, open mouthed, then they unchained them.
"It's been so long since we've had music in this Kingdom." Said Bert's friend, Bob Rafelson. "How would you like to be the King's musicians?"
"Us?" Peter, Michael and George all said at the same time.
"Before I decide can I see my family?" Asked George and the King told one of his men to bring the Dolenz family.
"And I'd like to see Phyllis please." Somebody was sent to bring Phyllis.
"George!" George's family called out and they all gave him a big hug.
"They weren't too mean to you, were they?" Asked his sister, Gemma Marie.
"I'm fine Coco Sunshine." Said George as he gave her a big hug.
"Coco Sunshine?" Peter had a very puzzled look.
"It's a nickname I gave her." Said George.
"Like how you called Phyllis Phil?" Asked Michael.
"Well you call her April. Besides, Phil has a nice ring to it."
"Have I seen him before?" The King asked Bert, pointing to George. The King had a very bad memory but Bert remembered him and he remembered why he was sent to the dungeon.
'It's a good thing this happened.' Bert thought to himself. Tomorrow George was going to be executed. That's why Bert told the King that they should be his musicians.
"April!" Michael ran to Phyllis. "We're going to get married right away."
"Can we come?" Asked George.
"Sure you can come." Said Phyllis. "But this means we'll have to bring extra food."
"Speaking of food, I'm starving. I'm so hungry I could eat a Dragon." Said George.
"I bet you could eat two dragons." Said his little sister, Debbie.
"For that I'm going to tickle you." Debbie started to run away and George chased her round the room.
Jody ran into the royal chamber and gave Peter a big hug and started to cry.
"I heard that you were here and I was afraid that they were going to do something to you."
"Don't worry Jody," Peter told her, then he explained what happened and how the King wants him to be one of his Musicians.
"That's wonderful Peter." Jody smiled, wiping the tears away.
"It's getting noisy in here." Said Michael as he watched George chase his sisters while his Mother laughed and Peter talking to Jody. When everything was calm Peter, Michael and George turned to the King.
"We've talked about it," Michael told the King. "And we've decided to be your musicians."
