Chapter 12

“Father, these are Peter’s friends. They also took care of me,” Helen stated. She then began to introduce the young men to her father and Prince Halsten. Afterwards, she noticed that Mike, Micky and Davy were staring at the man they thought was Peter.

“Oh, he is not your friend Peter. He is Prince Halsten of Zan; my betroth. Peter is well and is waiting to see you. You should be very proud of him. He was very brave.”

“My lads, thank-you for caring for my daughter. I know she can be a handful at times,” the King added.

“My King, we have delayed these young men long enough. I am sure they are anxious to meet with their friend,” Prince Hasten said with a smile that rivaled Peter’s.

“Ah, yes. Hareld, please escort these young men to their friend. Oh, and try to get some rest. Tonight you shall be guests of honor at out feast.” The three Monkees bowed again and were taken to a lavish room where their friend and brother Peter anxiously waited.

“Guys!!” Peter almost screamed as they embraced in a group hug. “Am I glad to see you!! You should have seen Helen!! She was amazing! I told you she was special!! Imagine that! A princess who could fight!”

“Yeah, imagine that,” Micky said rather flatly.

“What’s wrong, Mick?” Mike asked noticing the distress in Micky’s voice.

“What’s wrong?? That girl really is a princess! Remember how I treated her?” Micky asked.

“Yeah, I’m afraid we do. We were there, remember?” Davy asked.

“Thanks a lot Davy!” Micky said sarcastically. “ I mean, can you imagine what she can do to me?? I’m lucky if she’ll just have my head!” Micky said dramatically as he sat down covering his face with his hands.

“Micky, Helen’s not like that. She won’t harm you,” Peter said soothingly.

“She probably won’t. But what if she told her boyfriend?? He might want to get revenge,” Micky wailed.

“Now just stop that! You just might be carryin’ on for nothin’. Besides, I never heard of a condemned man bein’ honored at a feast,” Mike said.

“Well, I hope you are right. But I still feel bad, man,” Micky sighed.
