"What do you think?" Davy asked.
"Mahvelous!" Micky exaggerated.
"Good job! She's a natural beauty!" Peter smiled.
Buddy, who always wore her hair in a pony-tail and favored jeans and tees, now had her dark hair hanging to her shoulders. Her brown eyes and face were highlighted with flattering make-up. She wore a white turtleneck, black and white checkered mini-skirt and black knee-high boots. She looked like a model. "What? What did you do to me? How do I look?" Buddy anxiously asked.
"You were always beautiful. We just accented it with a little 'Monkee Magic!'" Peter answered.
"An' now, my luv, take a look in the mirror," Davy announced turning Buddy to face her reflection in the mirror.
"Wow!! Oh, my- -is -is this me?! What? How did you do this??" Buddy asked as she checked herself out in the mirror.
"Told ya, babe," Micky grinned. "'Monkee Magic.'"
"Tha' was part one, now we move to part two!" Davy announced.
(The Romp section begins here, so stay with me guys!)
(Intro to "I'll Be Back Upon My Feet" begins. Davy begins to show Buddy how to walk. Buddy looks at Peter, Peter at Micky, then they all look at Davy who jesters, "What?"
Buddy walks after Davy, but it's a tomboyish walk. She looks at the guys and they give her a "See no evil" "Speak no evil" and "Hear no evil" sign.
Next, Buddy is trying to walk with books on her head. First, all the books fall, second Buddy falls, and third, she makes it to the end of the room with a book on her head, turns smiles, then falls.
Buddy tries again and again, but she keeps tripping, falling or stumbling. (Now we have the instrumental part of the song.) The guys are exhausted, but Buddy suddenly stands and walks the living room like a top model. She turns gracefully, poses and smiles like a pro. She looks towards the guys and they hold signs with the number "10" on them. Buddy throws them a kiss waves, and walks out the door, model style.
As the music fades, the guys congratulate themselves, then Peter looks at his watch and warns the others. They then run back to the Pad to get there before Mike and pack for the gig. End of romp.)
Buddy walked into the club and she turned the heads of several of the guys there. She sat nervously at the back of the club so that Mike would not see her right away. From where she sat, she saw the girls that gave her such a hard time before position themselves at the front table.
She knew that the girls were using this opportunity to get to the guys again. But, she also knew once the Monkees said that they did not like the way a girl acted, it was over! With this in mind, Buddy smiled and kept watch from her seat in the back.
The Monkees arrived and began to set up.
"Hey Mike!" Diane called sweetly called.
Mike cringed at the sound. He had a flashback of what Diane had said bout Buddy.
"What are they doing here?" Mike hissed to Davy.
"Uh oh, better question would be why are they here?" Davy answered and gave Micky a worried glance.
Peter's face fell. "Micky what about----"
"What about what?" Mike asked.
"Uh, what about our line-up 'Last Train to Clarksville' then we'll go about as planned," Mike stated. "Just ignore those people in the front."
With nods of affirmation, the band began their set. After "Mary, Mary" the group broke for a rest.
"Here ya go," the waiter said, setting a Coke down in front of Mike.
"Who sent this?" Mike asked getting suspicious. "I didn't order this."
"A young girl sent it," the waiter said.
"What young girl?" Mike asked.
"This girl," a familiar voice said. Mike turned and looked up into the eyes of the re-created Buddy.
"B-Buddy?? Oh, my gosh!! Look at you!! Guys look at her!!" Mike stammered.
"You like?" Buddy asked turning in her newly acquired model style.
"Man, you -are- Oh my gosh!" Mike said as he hugged her. "My gosh!!"
"So, I take it you like?" Buddy smiled.
"I sure do!!" Mike was finally able to say.
As she watched Mike and Buddy, Diane's eyes narrowed. "Get me something that stains. A grape soda!" she ordered.
