"Guys, what do think of Buddy? I mean really?" Peter asked.
"Oh, she's a good girl. Friendly." Davy said.
"Yeah," Micky added. "Why do you ask, Peter?"
"I think Mike likes her and she likes Mike," Peter said.
"Wha makes ya say tha?" Davy asked.
"Well, remember when our dates made fun of her? Remember how mad Mike got?" Peter asked.
"Yeah. Diane was mad because we asked her friends out, but Mike didn't ask her. So she invited herself to the table and stated making fun of Buddy," Davy said.
Micky whistled and said, "I thought he was gonna lose it. Especially after that 'grease monkey' crack."
"Yeah," said Davy "If looks could kill."
"Well, he really wanted her to come to the club last night," Peter said.
"You know, I think she wanted to, too," Micky said.
"But she was afraid," Davy added.
"I think she and Mike would be good together," Peter smiled.
"Whoa, you know how Mike gets when we try ta set 'im up," Davy protested.
"Yeah. What makes you think it would work?" Mickey asked.
"I've seen them working together. They're a natural," Peter said proudly.
"So why try to meddle?" Micky asked.
"They talk about cars, they need to discover themselves," Peter smiled.
"What do you suggest we do?" Micky asked.
"Well, Davy, do you think you can pull off a 'My Fair Lady' transformation?" Peter asked.
"Why me?" Davy asked.
"Oh, don't tell me Casanova Jones is refusing a challenge!" Micky smirked.
"Now wait a minute! Mike's not gonna kill me! You guys are gonna help!" Davy demanded.
"At your service," Peter and Micky said and bowed together.
At that moment, the front door opened and in walked Mike and Buddy.
"What's goin' on?" Mike asked. "You guys havin' a meetin' or somethin'?"
"Oh no. We were just-just-hi Buddy!" Peter smiled his dimpled smile, hoping to change the subject.
"Hi yourself, Big Pete," Buddy laughed.
"So, you two have been working on the car?" Micky asked.
"What gave you a clue?" Mike asked. Both he and Buddy were dressed in coveralls and had grease smudges on their faces. They had come in to get water.
"What?" Mike asked. He and Buddy had sat at the table when he noticed the other three staring at them.
"Oh, nothing! Nothing! Let's go outside, guys," Davy suggested. The three then rushed to the veranda.
"That was close," Peter whispered.
"Peter?" Micky whispered.
"Yeah?" Peter whispered.
"Why are we whispering?" Micky asked.
"Oh-I-I, uh, sorry," Peter said in his normal voice. "Now, don't you see what I mean? They're a natural, but we have to get them out of cars and into themselves."
"Peter!!" Micky said dramatically faking shock.
"You know what 'e means!" Davy said elbowing Micky in the stomach.
"What? What?" Peter repeatedly asked.
"Oh nevah mind Pete. That's jus' Micky bein' Micky. Alright guys, 'Operation Buddy' is about to begin!" Davy said. And the guys began to plot their plan.
