Micky (Listening to Mike whistling): Mike will you knock off that whistling? It's driving me crazy!
Mike: It never did before. Usually you jump right in and start singing to my whistling.
Micky: Well that was then; this is now. I'm tired of hearing it ok?
Davy (Coming down the winding stairs): What side of the bed did *you* wake up on this morning?
Micky: No side ok? I didn't sleep at all last night.
Mike: Then that's your fault, man. Don't go takin' it out on us!
Micky: I can't help it. Between your snoring and Davy's talking in his sleep, I couldn't sleep a wink.
Davy: I don't talk in my sleep mate!
Micky (Imitating Davy's dream): "Charlene...I love you. Will you marry me?"
Davy: I had no such dream!
Micky: You did to! Ask Peter! He heard it!
Peter: Heard what? I didn't hear anything but the sound of you grumbling all night.
Micky: Yeah, well if I didn't grumble about something around here, nobody else would.
Mike: Well if you're gonna grumble, could you do it louder? I can't hear myself think!
Micky: Very funny Mike!
Davy: Man, you need to go take a walk or something.
Micky: No! What I need to do is get away from the three of you for a while.
Mike (Stopping his dusting): What are you saying man?
Peter: He's saying that he wants to break up with you!
Mike: Hardy, hard-hard Peter!
Peter: Gotta find some humor in this somewhere. All this negativity is not good for me.
Davy: Micky, you just need to calm down mate. You're very weary and need your rest. Why don't you go lay down a bit and Mike, Peter and meself will take care of the chores.
Micky: No! I'm leaving Davy! I'm packing my stuff up and I'm leaving today. I have completely had it. If it's not Mike grumbling about how we keep house, it's you complaining that a girl didn't take you up on an offer for a night out. And Peter's constant stupidity is really driving me crazy.
Peter (Feelings now hurt): You think I'm stupid? (Micky just looked at Peter)
Micky: That is *not* what I said!
Peter: But it's what you meant right? (Micky didn't say anything else. Peter, feeling really hurt now, turned and walked out the door that led to the beach)
Mike: Way to go Micky! You just hurt his feelings. I hope you're happy with yourself.
Micky: Look, I didn't mean to hurt his feelings. I'm frustrated ok Mike? We haven't had a job in over two months, we have no money to pay Mr. Babbit with and we are starving. I can't take it anymore.
Mike: So you're just giving up on us right?
Micky: I have to man. There's just no other way around it. I'm leaving and you can't stop me.
Davy: But Micky...(Mike put his hand up to get Davy to hush)
Mike: Micky's right Davy. We can't stop him from leaving. But if he leaves here, he's throwing away three very good friends. (To Micky) You hear me Micky? If you walk out, you can't come back.
Micky (Staying strong): So be it! I'm gone! (Micky went up to his room, grabbed his already packed bag and came back down the stairs. He was just being looked at by Mike and Davy was staring at the floor)
Mike: The least you could do before you leave is apologize to Peter. That was cruel and insensitive of you and I don't appreciate it. He has stuck his neck out for you several times over the years and this is how you treat him? That's not what a friend is Micky.
Micky: I will apologize to him on my own time ok? Right now, I'm out of here! (Micky, without saying one more word, left the beach house)
Davy (Now in tears): He's really not coming back?
Mike: Looks that way Davy.
Davy: So what do we do from here?
Mike: We either find another person to help with rent or we'll have to go our own way.
Davy: I'm gonna go talk to Peter. You coming?
Mike: Yeah. Be there in a minute. (Davy walked out the door that led to the beach. Mike waited for Davy to leave to let his own tears fall down his face; to himself but kind of toward Micky) You have no idea what you are giving up Micky. (Mike turned and left for the beach)
