Summary: Micky has a strange encounter with Eater Rabbits
A/N: Easter is a beautiful season. This is just a little fun. Happy Easter everyone!!
Petra was back at the pad to spend Easter with her brother, Peter. The two of them were happily preparing for Easter by dying eggs so that the Easter Rabbit could hide them during the night. Their excitement was so contagious that the other guys even agreed to go to the park and participate in the city Easter Egg hunt after church.
Petra had even taken to wearing bunny ears. Micky, who was ever so curious, asked about the Tork tradition of leaving the dyed eggs for the Easter Rabbit.
?You don?t know about that?? Peter asked.
?No. It sounds something like the Great Pumpkin at Halloween,? Micky answered.
?Well, at home we always dyed eggs and left them for the Easter Rabbit. When we woke up in the morning, the eggs would be gone and we would have to hunt around the house for them,? Peter explained.
?Peter always got more eggs than I did,? Petra added as she drew a peace sign on an egg.
?I?ve never heard of this tradition either,? Davy said.
?Me neither. The egg hunt sure, but leaving ?em out for the Easter Rabbit, no,? Mike added.
?But we do it every year at home,? Petra said.
?Must be a ?Tork? thing,? Micky said.
?Well guys, you?re in for a treat. Just wait until tomorrow morning!? Peter said smiling.
Later into the night when everyone had gone to bed, Micky woke up with hunger pains. He got out of bed and made his way downstairs. Micky had to blink his eyes to make sure he saw what he saw. There were two figures who were dressed as rabbits moving quickly about the pad hiding the dyed eggs. They had human faces and hands, but their bodies were covered with gray fur, except their stomach was white. Their ears and feet were those of rabbits. Upon closer look, they looked like Peter and Petra.
?Alright, hold it right there,? Micky said. The two figures stopped in their tracks and looked at each other and then at Micky. ?Some tradition. You guys were behind this all along!?
?Tahw si eh gniklat tuoba?? the girl rabbit creature asked.
?I t?nod wonk. S?tel hctiws ot Hsilgne,? the boy rabbit creature answered.
?Hey, don?t think you can throw me off by talking gibberish. No wonder you talked Davy into sleeping with Mike and me. It was so you could hide the eggs,? Micky smiled as he walked toward the girl. As he got closer to her he pulled one of her ears.
?Ow! Hey, watch the ears!! I don?t go around pulling on yours!? the girl rabbit yelped as she rubbed her ear.
?Oh, well I don?t know how you got them on so good, but you can come clean. I caught both of you in the act!? Micky proudly proclaimed.
?Yeah, you caught us. You?re supposed to be asleep!? the boy rabbit said a bit annoyed. I don?t know about you, but I can use a little rest now. This is fast work,? the girl rabbit said as she sat on the couch.
?Hey Pete, where?d ya get that suit?? Micky asked as he followed the boy rabbit to the couch.
?I?m not Pete. My name is Jack Rabbit and this is my sister, Jackie. We?re Easter Rabbits,? Jack replied.
?It?s the Tork kids. He thinks you?re Peter and I?m Petra,? Jackie said.
?They?re asleep in their beds,? Jack pointed out.
?Yeah, right. And I?m Bugs Bunny,? Micky sneered.
?No you?re not!! You look nothing like our uncle!? Jack said sternly.
?Yeah. Don?t make us call him,? Jackie said.
?Alright guys, a joke is a joke and you know I can appreciate a joke. So have your little fun. I came down here for a snack. Now if you will excuse me,? Micky said as he walked past the rabbits and entered the kitchen
The boy and girl rabbit looked at each other and followed Micky into the kitchen area. When Micky turned around from the refrigerator, he saw the two rabbit creatures staring at him, their ears were twitching curiously.
?Like I said, I don?t know how you guys got those ears to work, but it?s a great gag. Are you gonna wear that get-up to the city Easter Egg hunt?? Micky asked as he set about making himself a sandwich.
?Look human, I told you we?re Easter Rabbits!!? Jack protested.
?Ha!? Micky said in a laugh. ?You guys don?t know when to give up!?
The rabbit creatures watched as Micky made and ate his sandwich. This was a strange human indeed. He didn?t seem the least bit afraid or intimidated by them. Most humans at the sight of them, if they happened to catch them, would run in sheer shock. This human simply carried on a conversation.
?That hit the spot,? Micky said as he finished the sandwich. ?Oh, I didn?t offer you guys any. But then again, you know where everything is.?
?That?s OK. We prefer carrots,? Jack answered.
?Man, will you guys give it a rest?? Micky asked as he rolled his eyes. ?I?m gonna let you guys get back to your little game. Don?t worry, I won?t tell the others. G?night.? And with that Micky walked upstairs to his room.
?Strange human,? Jackie said as they watched Micky go into the bedroom.
?Most definitely. Let?s finish up here we?ve been delayed long enough.? Jack said as he placed an egg behind Peter?s bass.
But Micky wasn?t finished. He came back down the stairs with his camera. He carefully crept up to the pair who were just finishing up and focused the camera.
?It?s that human again,? Jackie whispered.
?Never mind him. Let?s go,? Jack smiled his dimpled smile mischievously.
Just as Micky was about to take the picture, Jack and Jackie turned to face him and began to laugh. In a split second the two disappeared. Micky removed the camera from his face and stared at the empty space. He slowly walked to Peter?s room and quietly opened the door. There, in their perspective beds, lay Peter and Petra in peaceful sleep.
?MIKE!!!? Micky yelled. ?MIKE!!? Micky?s screams, needless to say, woke the entire house, if not the neighborhood.
?Micky, what are you doing down here screaming?
It?s 2:00 in the morning!? Mike asked groggily.
?Yeah. What?s wrong?? Davy asked wiping the sleep from his eyes.
?Rabbits!! Two of ?em. They were here. I talked to them!!? Micky hurriedly said.
?You saw rabbits?? Peter asked.
?You talked to rabbits?? Petra asked.
?Yeah and the rabbits were you two!!? Micky said pointing at Peter and Petra.
?Micky, do you understand what you?re saying? You just accused Peter and
Petra of being rabbits,? Mike said calmly placing a hand on the excited drummer?s shoulders.
Peter and Petra looked at each other and shrugged. What could Micky have been talking about? They were fast asleep, that is until they were awakened by his screams.
?But they were!!? Micky insisted. ?I don?t know how you got out of those suits so fast, but you two were down here acting like rabbits!!?
?Micky, you must have been sleep walking!? Davy yawned.
?Tell them! You said your name was Jack Rabbit and she was named Jackie! Bugs Bunny is your uncle!! Ya wanted carrots!!!? Micky frantically told the guys.
?OK. That?s it. No more late night snacks for you. Everybody, go back to bed. We have a busy day tomorrow,? Mike said as he led Micky who was still babbling about rabbits up the stairs.
?G?night,? Davy said as he followed yawning.
Peter and Petra stood for a moment and looked after Micky. Then they looked at the bowl that held the dyed eggs. It was empty. Both siblings looked at each other and smiled. The Easter Rabbits had paid the pad and Micky a visit.
